Filipino fans made sure to be loudest and most enthusiastic crowd as they greeted MOMOLAND, Ha Sung Woon, and Kim Jae Hwan last Saturday night, October 5, 2019, at the Araneta Coliseum for Good Friends in Manila.
Not strangers to each other anymore, Filipino fans welcomed the South Korean artists warmly and with loud cheers as each of them had their individual stages. MOMOLAND just had their first fan-meeting in the Philippines earlier this year, while Sung Woon and Jae Hwan visited the country at the end of last year as members of Wanna One for their <One : The World> Concert.
The DNM Entertainment-organized event was hosted by trending Korean singer Sandra Jung, who was joined by the girls from MOMOLAND from time to time during the show for a little bit of emceeing.
Ha Sung Woon opened the night with a sweet performance of his debut track ‘Bird’. He also performed songs from his latest album ‘BXXX’, namely ‘What Are You Doing Today’, ‘BLUE’ and ‘Bluemaze.’
During his talking segment, Sungwoon remembered visiting Cebu before with some of his friends, including SHINee’s Taemin, EXO’s Kai, and VIXX’s Ravi. He said if he would be given a chance to go somewhere in the Philippines again, he’d like to check out Tagaytay.
When asked what for him is a “good friend”, Sungwoon answered: “Someone who lives life to the fullest.”
Filipino HA:NEULs never got tired of cheering to lift their Cloud’s spirit as Sung Woon performed ‘Don’t Forget’ and ‘Tell Me I Love You’. As he bid farewell to fans, he left them a message: “Thank you for always being by my side. Thank you for the support. I love you!”
Next to entertain the Araneta crowd was Sung Woon’s Wanna One co-member Kim Jae Hwan, who immediately showed off this well-loved vocal skills with ‘Begin Again’, followed by equally endearing stages of ‘My Star’, ‘Black Sky’ and ‘Designer’.
During his interview, Jae Hwan recalled Wanna One’s concert last year in Manila, which he described as hot. He also pointed out that the fans’ energy then was the same as at Good Friends. Jae Hwan also revealed he regularly meets with former Wanna One co-members and that they must know about the concert. He added that he enjoyed his time again in the country because he was with Sung Woon.
Perhaps the highlight of Jae Hwan’s stage was his hot and sexy renditions of Demi Lovato’s ‘Sorry Not Sorry’ and Trey Songz’ ‘Neighbors Know My Name’. He then ended his part in the show telling Filipino WIN:Ds this: “I hope you don’t forget the memories we shared tonight. Thank you for supporting me and please continue to listen to my music!”
The last to grace the venue was the trendy girl group whose music video once featured Kim Jae Hwan himself. MOMOLAND took fans on a trip into their world with ‘Welcome To Momoland’, ‘Holiday’, ‘Banana ChaCha’ and ‘Uh Gi Yeo Cha’.
Filipino MERRYs know by now that MOMOLAND will have more activities in the country as the group’s agency MLD Entertainment entered into a partnership with Filipino local entertainment agency ABS-CBN. One of the activities includes member Nancy starring in an upcoming TV drama with Filipino heartthrob James Reid as her male lead.
Back to the show, the girls continued to enchant the crowd with their stages of ‘Falling U’ and ‘Wonderful Love’. The whole of Araneta Coliseum joined in the fan-chants and cheers as they performed their well-loved hit songs ‘Boom Boom’ and ‘BAAM’ as well as their latest comeback track ‘I’m So Hot’.
Before the end of the concert, it was announced that all of MOMOLAND’s earnings from the event will be donated to a group of people in Antipolo. The girls then ended the night singing a heartfelt rendition of the Filipino song ‘Salamat’ by Yeng Constantino, which literally translates to “thank you.”
But the thanks also go to MOMOLAND, Kim Jae Hwan and Ha Sung Woon for always being “good friends” to their fans and for sharing with us memories of the night to cherish!
