[PHILIPPINES] Ahn Hyo Seop Gifts Filipino Fans with a Delightful “The Present Show: Here and Now”

Ahn Hyo Seop is the gift that keeps on giving.

There was never a dull moment at the award-winning Korean actor’s first fan meeting tour, which finally made its way to Manila on October 8, 2023, at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.

Dressed handsomely in a dusty pink polo and denim jeans from the Philippines’ biggest clothing store, BENCH/, Ahn Hyo Seop opened the show with his gorgeous cover of John Park’s I’m Your Man.

Casual fans may not know this, but Hyo Seop’s talents go beyond acting. Trained in classical music when he was young, Ahn Hyo Seop’s musical gifts eventually led him to pursue an idol career in Korea. In fact, he trained alongside GOT7 and TWICE. However, things took a different turn, leading him to focus on acting. And as they say, the rest is history.

During the talk segment of the fan meeting, it was revealed that Ahn Hyo Seop was heavily involved in conceptualizing the whole event. He entitled it Here and Now because he focuses on the happiest point in time: the present. After all, it is thanks to the fans that he has gained success and popularity now.

Little is known about Ahn Hyo Seop’s childhood and private life, so it was heartwarming to hear a few stories as he answered the questions sent in by fans. When asked what he was like when he was a kid, he humbly admitted that he was a bit of a nerd and was unpopular among girls.

Moving on to the next segment that focuses on his works, Ahn Hyo Seop cutely shared behind-the-scenes stories of his iconic scenes. In Lovers of the Red Sky, a brief comedic moment between the characters Cheon Gi and Ha Ram made it to the final cut thanks to Ahn Hyo Seop’s suggestion. Fans were also in for a treat as he reenacted some of his memorable lines in English with his buttery voice.

Ahn Hyo Seop definitely pulled out all the stops for his fan meeting, as the 28-year-old actor did a mini-concert the rest of the time. Not only is Ahn Hyo Seop talented in singing, but he is as equally talented in dancing! And of course, he serenaded his fans with a medley of songs on the piano, including a piano cover of Yiruma’s River Flows Into You that he also did in Business Proposal.

Ahn Hyo Seop’s The Present Show: Here and Now was truly a gift for his Filipino fans. It was clear that the actor gave it his all so that fans would look back to what could be their happiest moment. With the Filipino fans’ loud and enthusiastic welcome, Ahn Hyo Seop’s first visit to Manila definitely won’t be his last.
