[NEWS] Here’s Everything You Should Know About Disney+ Latest Korean Drama ‘May It Please The Court’

The cast of Disney+ K-Drama May It Please The Court appeared at a global press conference on September 21. The star-studded line up consisted of Jung Ryeo-won, Lee Kyu-hyung & Jung Jin-young. They were joined by the drama’s director Kang Min-gu.

During the press conference, the cast and director briefly explained to the press and audience the synopsis of the drama. 

Noh Chak-hee (Jung Ryeo-won), an ace lawyer in her company who rarely loses her cases, is suddenly suspended due to an incident. She is now forced to work as a public defendant. Jwa Si-baek (Lee Kyu-hyung), is a public defender that puts his morals first. He turned down offers from well-respected law firms to be a public defender. However, he has a secret about his personal life that no one knows about. While Jang Ki-do (Jung Jin-young) is the CEO of the big law firm, Jangsan, where Noh Chak-hee works at.

Director Kang Min-gu, first said the reason why he wanted to direct this drama was that he was first drawn to the title and its heartwarming story.

Jung Ryeo-won confessed that at first, she didn’t want to be a part of it as she thought it was just another legal drama. However, when she read the script, she couldn’t resist it as the storyline was too good.

Lee Kyu-hyung also stated that he had acted in shows revolving around legal issues such as Prison Playbook where he played as a prisoner. He has worked with Kang Ming-gu before and wanted to work with him again.

Jung Ji Young said that he had a certain bias against legal dramas but when he read the script, it was very different from a typical legal storyline. He had also portrayed villain characters before but there was something that this villain had that made him want the part.

The team expressed that the show will be able to hook its audience by the amount of suspense and curiosity. 

Jung Ryeo-won added “Usually when you first watch a drama, there will be a character which you are rooting for but this is different. In this first episode, you will start to doubt the certain character so that adds to the mystery element of this show. Feelings of betrayal will also be felt by the viewers.”
