[MALAYSIA] STAYC Prove Their Hype For Their First Fan Meeting in Kuala Lumpur

Six-member K-pop girl group STAYC had a remarkable fan meeting in Malaysia with <STAYC 1st FAN MEETING IN KUALA LUMPUR>! The group consists of Sumin, Sieun, Seeun, Isa, Yoon and J who create a perfect harmony. Early this month, Zepp Kuala Lumpur was filled with SWITHs, the name for STAYC’s official fandom. Right after 7 PM, the girls finally stepped onto the stage, starting with their debut track, So Bad and Beautiful Monster.

The Epitome of Teen-Fresh

After finishing their first performance, STAYC introduced themselves in Malay while waving towards the crowd, with fans squealing over their fluent Malay accent. For the Hello StayC segment, STAYC were required to pick a question from a notice board filled with SWITH’s questions. Isa picked a question which asked for her recent favourite song and recommended VIBE by Taeyang featuring BTS Jimin, to which she sang the song’s chorus. The girls also shared that their recently released album will include Teddy Bear and POPPY (Korean Version). Sumin later pronounced ‘I love you’ in Kelantanese dialect, as stated on the sticky note to which the audience acknowledged her fluency.

Playful and Cheeky Presence

After the girls performed RUN2U and So What, they were split into two different groups which are Mantap (Sumin, Sieun, Seeun) and POPPY (Isa, Yoon, J). Both teams were required to compete with each other through Ping-Pong and Flip The Cup game segment. The girls were randomly given a bottle, a large tray, funny instruments, and slippers. Those who received items with wider surfaces have a high chance of winning the game. The girls then continued with the next game segment, which is cup bingo game where they need to flip the paper cups in a row to strike a bingo. The POPPY team won the competition with the most points, while the Mantap team was penalized by having to dance to a random song.

A Memorable Night with SWITH

STAYC took SWITHs by surprise with a rendition of classic song Rasa Sayang. This was the highlight for the whole night for SWITHs as their Malay pronunciation was very clear. The girls later taught the audience to do the POPPY challenge with them, and a photo session with POPPY and Teddy Bear pose. The crowd were serenaded with I’ll Be There before they returned backstage. Malaysian SWITHs cheered for an encore, to which STAYC returned to the stage before the LED screen started to play a fan project video which included their journey from debut and heartwarming messages from local SWITHs! The girls were very thankful for the overwhelming support and showed their gratitude with their hit track ASAP as last performance of the night.

The fan meeting really showed the bond between STAYC and SWITHs as both gave their fullest to enjoy and create beautiful memories together! We hope that SWITHs were living their best day throughout the fan meeting and anticipate STAYC’s concert in Malaysia next time!
