[MALAYSIA] Seo In Guk Charms at ‘Heart Cookie’ Fanmeeting

South Korean actor and singer-songwriter Seo In Guk came to Malaysia for the first time ever as part of the ‘HEART COOKIE’ Asia Fanmeeting Tour at HGH Convention Centre on Friday, October 10, 2025! An all-rounder who made his debut as a singer in the talent show Superstar K back in 2009, Seo In Guk is also known for his acting chops, as proven in dramas like Reply 1997 and Doom At Your Service. The Malaysian Heart Riders are finally able to witness their heartthrob in person through this fanmeeting.

Prior to the fanmeeting, a special Press Conference was held where local media were able to engage with him up close and personal. As this was his first time in Malaysia, he had several things to experience, mainly to sightsee and eat, as one should. “Firstly, I’d like to take a picture in front of the Petronas Twin Towers, then, I would want to try roti canai,” he said.

When asked whether he will be more open to being in variety shows (referring to his emcee role of the Korean variety show Better Late Than Single), Seo In Guk admitted that while he’s personally not a fan of having such a huge role in variety shows, the show’s producer was a big help in making the role work for him.

Finally, he hoped to have a good time with the fans coming for the event, and promised to give his best performance during the fanmeeting.

Seo In Guk opened the fanmeeting as he entered the stage and sang MY LOVE, complete with cheers from the fans who have been waiting for a long time to finally witness him live in person. As he formally introduced himself to the fans, he was joined by emcee Natalie Chai on the stage to continue with the segments prepared for the fanmeeting.

The first segment is Heart To Heart, where the fans voted on various options related to Seo In Guk in his life, ranging from daily life (songs/food he’s into nowadays), as well as the character that the fans’ associate with him the most. Unsurprisingly, his role as Myeolmang from Doom At Your Service was the most popular pick. He mentioned that he’s been wanting to act in a fantasy drama for quite some time now, and was lucky to be involved with that drama.

He also discussed the other roles like his breakout role in Reply 1997 as high schooler Yoon Yun-jae, where he can relate as being the icon of first love, the heavy acting he had to do as Kim Moo-young from The Smile Has Left Your Eyes, and the character immersion he had to as part of being Park Jong-Du in the movie Project Wolf Hunting.

The second segment is Heart Talk, a fast-paced Q&A where Seo In Guk answered questions sent by the fans in different time limits. Hilarity ensued as he tried his best to answer some questions that needed more context but was limited due to the time. A beautiful moment during this segment was when Seo In Guk performed an impromptu duet of the Reply 1997’s OST All For You with a fan as part of the Q&A, before performing Distant Days, the OST from Doom At Your Service to close out the segment.

The fun continued with Heart Relay, a relay game where 3 teams of 3 lucky fans selected by Seo In Guk via lucky draw, were tasked to complete a relay game of target shooting, ddakji, and jegichagi with him under 100 seconds. Seo In Guk worked hard to complete the tasks together with the fans, and the winners’ efforts were not wasted as they were rewarded with special signed polaroids by Seo In Guk himself. On top of the gifts that he had given throughout the event, he even held a special lucky draw session after the segment, where the lucky ones received a series of his unique polaroids, personally owned caps, as well as a signed Airpods Pro!

As the event was nearing its end, Malaysian Heart Riders surprised Seo In Guk with a fan video to commemorate him coming to Malaysia, as well as celebrating his birthday in advance. He was given a Malaysian food t-shirt as well as a Malaysian batik shirt which he wore immediately, much to the delight of the fans.

He was thankful for the love and support and promised to come again to Malaysia soon. Seo In Guk then sings Couple, before finally ending the fanmeeting with an encore performance of All For You, where he went down the stage to interact with the fans.

We had a wonderful time spent with Seo In Guk as part of his first visit in Malaysia, and we would like to wish him all the best in his upcoming roles, and hope to see him again in Malaysia soon!

The Seoul Story would like to thank LOL Asia for the media invite.
