[MALAYSIA] Park Bogum Enthralls Fans at the Samsung S9 Launch

Last Thursday, the Pavilion KL played host to one of Korea’s most bankable names, Park Bogum, the national darling who was there to launch the new Samsung S9/9+ phone with new features.

Fans of Park Bogum were queueing for FanZone seats from long before the official 2pm call, and had waited patiently for his scheduled arrival that evening  after 6.30pm at the launch event for the new Samsung S9 and S9+, for which he is the spokesperson and ambassador. The new phone features Wide Angle lens, Emoji Selfie Generator and Super Slo Mo photography.

As fans await his arrival, local emcee Serena C, Youtube duo Jin and Reuben from JinnyBoyTV and Miss Astro 2016 Serene Lim had presented the Samsung product and and a brief introduction of new features were given by the leaders of Samsung S9/9+.

Finally, upon his arrival to screaming fans, Bogum began by saying that he was honoured to be back and also honoured to be the ambassador for the new Samsung S9!

He said in Korean, “I’m so glad to be seeing you for the second time,” referring to his prior trip to Malaysia, and then following with “Aku cinta padamu!” which means “I love you” in Malay.

After a brief posing session with the President of Samsung Malaysia Electronics, and also the IT & Mobile Business Head and Business Director of the same and Serene Lim, they got straight on with the highlight of the evening: the opportunity to experience the new Samsung S9 Super Slow Mo feature with Bogum.

Three lucky fans got to pose in action with Bogum, throwing tinsel, confetti and rose petals while posing for the Super Slo Mo feature, which wowed the audience. However, the best part was that Bogum gave each fan a hug and personally escorted them to the centre of the stage for the posing.

After that, there was a fan event held by Bogum fans in the FanZone, who held up special banners bearing congratulatory messages on his recent graduation at 25 years of age. While he was thanking the crowd, he urged them to use the new phone features to record precious moments and upload them on SNS – and held up his pinky finger to make them keep that promise.

In his fluent English, he said, “Thank you for being present here and I hope to show myself to you [in] good dramas this year” – which of course, got the audience very, very excited! “I will try my best.”

The emcee hoped that we would see Bogum again in Malaysia soon, and with that, the event was over too soon! Bogum waved goodbye to the audience and left the stage. Some lucky fans got to see him visit the Samsung outlet in Pavilion, where he spent a little time before being ushered away!
