Jackson Wang is finally here for the much anticipated JACKSON WANG MAGIC MAN WORLD TOUR 2022 in KUALA LUMPUR held on Saturday, December 17, 2022! Read on as we recap what went on during the concert!
The MAGIC MAN Experience Finally Comes To Life
Performing for a sold out crowd at Axiata Arena, Kuala Lumpur, Jackson Wang made sure to bring his A-game, as this was his first ever solo concert.
The concert started at 8PM local time, with the crowd screaming enthusiastically as the lights dimmed. A VCR was screened with some accompaniments of laser effects, and the Magic Man himself, Jackson Wang, is finally revealed to the crowd in the main stage, as he kicked things off with a back-to-back performance of 100 Ways and Go Ghost.
He took a tiny break in between, greeting his Malaysian Jackys as he requested the crowd to take away that the story of this concert was about him, before continuing with his next songs, Blackout and I Don’t Have It.
Jackson Wang Becomes Vulnerable For His Fans
Jackson Wang went out for a wardrobe change as a VCR played, and he came back to the stage and performed Just Like Magic. He then continued to the center stage, where he performed All The Way, Bullet To The Heart, and Drive You Home, utilizing the elevated center stage.
In between performances, he thanks his fans for coming to the concert and highlights that he really wanted to share the different sides of him through this concert and hopes that the fans can see that.
After that passionate comment, he continues on the center stage with Blue and Dopamine before exiting the stage for another wardrobe change.
Finding A Muse From The Crowd
With another VCR, Jackson Wang is back as he performs LMLY and Vibes at the main stage. As he gets ready to perform his next song, he searches the crowd to find his muse to sing to. His requirement? The muse must be single. Simple as that. After a bit of searching, he found his muse from the crowd and performs I Love You 3000 at the center stage with her. He walks around the center stage to greet his fans as he performs Poison before exiting the stage.
Mamak and Jackson Wang; A Love Story
Jackson Wang came back to the main stage after another VCR as he sung Come Alive and Champagne Cool before transitioning to the center stage to perform The Moment. This time, he chose another lucky fan to sit in the middle of the center stage as Jackson Wang and his dancers danced around her, much to the delight of the crowd. She joins him again at the elevated center stage as he performs Dead.
Back to the main stage, he performed Drive It Like You Stole It before having his last ment at the center stage. He mentioned how he really wanted to dine in at a mamak restaurant (a street side restaurant found in Malaysia famous for serving Indian Muslim cuisine) since his last visit here, and with him being in Malaysia for a few more days, he hoped to be able to go and get that mamak meal he’s been craving for.
As the center stage slowly transformed to a fiery guitar, Jackson Wang performed the two remaining tracks, Cruel, and Blow, before exiting the stage.
Fanservice At Its Best
Malaysian Jackys screamed their hearts out, wanting an encore. After what seemed like forever, Pretty Please played, and Jackson Wang happily went back to the main stage with his dancers, dressed in orange hoodies from the tour merch. It seemed more like a post concert after party than an encore, as Jackson Wang and his team threw some of the hoodie for the crowd and some water splash from the team as well.
Jackson Wang then went out of his way and jumped through to the upper level barricade area and greeted his fans there, much to the delight of the fans. He then went back to the center stage and continued greeting his fans at the far end of the upper level area.
Jackson Wang hyped the crowd for the last track, Blow (Remix) as he and his team danced with the crowd together and overall having a good time. The final track ends, and with a bow to every corner of the center stage, Jackson Wang and his team walk off the stage and the concert is officially over.
Overall, the Magic Man experience was truly one of a kind. Jackson Wang managed to share his story to the fans, and at the same time he is able to keep us entertained throughout the concert. This is definitely a concert to remember.
