[MALAYSIA] iKON Turns Kuala Lumpur into Konfire with TAKE OFF

K-Pop sensational boy group, iKON finally returns to Malaysia after 6 years with 2023 iKON WORLD TOUR TAKE OFF in Kuala Lumpur which was held at Axiata Arena, Bukit Jalil on July 22, 2023! Returning as five members sans Jay, iKON had iKONICs screamng at the top of their lungs with SONG, BOBBY, DK, JU-NE and CHAN who took over the stage. A total of 9,000 fans came to fill their stadium up as they trusted iKON’s ability to deliver the best performance!

Heart-Pumping Performance

iKON brings back their upbeat signature sound with Tantara as the opening for the night. iKONICs were seen flashing their Konbat lightsticks along to the rhythm of these songs while the remix version of SINOSIJAK and band version of At Ease definitely had all the crowds hollering for them and continued with KILLING ME to maintain the excitement!

The blazing hotness continues with RHYTHM TA and BLING BLING, which had iKONICS bob their heads along with their lightstick. Their nation’s anthem, LOVE SCENARIO had iKONICs give their fullest for the best fanchants along to the song. Followed by their recent title track U, a youthful vibe track which was done impressively by iKON while still maintaining their colour. BOBBY and CHAN even showcased their fluency in Malay by giving pickup-line to Malaysian iKONICS.

iKON Shows Their Duality

With their recent album release, iKONICs were lucky as it was the first time iKON members performed their solo tracks such as Kiss Me which unveils DK’s sexiness as he teased fans by unbuttoning his blouse collar. JU-NE later continued the solo stage with his self-composed song Want You Back, which reveals him under a spotlight with an acoustic guitar. The thrill didn’t end there as BOBBY accompanied him on stage with a surprise track, Deep Night. The duo released the song via their iKON’s YouTube account back in 2020.

BOBBY later serenaded his fans with a track from his latest solo album, HeartBROKEN PlaYBoY. It was the first time BOBBY performed this song for their TAKE OFF tour, which surprised Malaysian iKONICS. SONG’s FIGHTING became the last solo stage for the night with its trot genre which captivated local iKONICS. The connection between iKON and their fans made this concert truly special. The group took time to interact with the audience, expressing gratitude for their support and sharing personal stories. This intimate bond created an atmosphere of unity and love that resonated throughout the venue.

iKON, known for their catchy tunes and energetic performances, didn’t disappoint iKONICS as they unleashed their diversity in singing different genres ranging from R&B to ballads. Why Why Why is hugely loved by Malaysians as the song ranked #1 on local streaming platform charts. The night continued with JU-NE’s self-composed group song Like A Movie and Goodbye Road, which brought back memories as Malaysia was the first stop to experience the song’s live performance in their previous CONTINUE tour.

Various Surprise From Malaysian iKONICs!

iKON’s concert in Kuala Lumpur was a resounding success that left fans craving more. iKONICS had their best moment of the night with back-to-back iKON’s signature songs — WHAT’S WRONG, DUMB AND DUMBER, B-DAY AND FREEDOM. As the concert came to an end, iKONICS had to scream their lungs out for an encore. iKON surprised fans with a side track from their recent TAKE OFF album, Driving Slowly, as an encore. The VCR fan project went successful as iKON showed their gratitude towards Malaysian iKONICS with four more encore songs which were: B-DAY, RHYTHM TA, LOVE SCENARIO and Tantara.

iKON literally lives up to their title of the group with the best concert experience as they gave their fullest energy while performing and gave their best fanservice. iKONIC’s enthusiasm definitely added up to the impressive crowd. We hope that iKON will return to Malaysia with new experiences and memories.
