After 2 years, iKON is finally back on Malaysian shores with their 2018 Continue Tour which was held at Sadium Malawati on 13th October 2018! The 7-member group which consists of B.I, Bobby, Jay, Ju-ne, Song, DK and Chan, never fail to put on an amazing performance with their powerful vocal, rap, and dance skills.
Their music encompasses genres such as hip-hop, EDM, and electro. Their wide variation of songs ranging from loud and upbeat beats to soft, subtle ballads are known and loved worldwide by thousands of people of all ages.
Here are some of the highlights of the concert.
Mind-blowing Performances
The stadium was full of life throughout the whole concert, from the beginning of their first song “Bling Bling,” all the way to their last song, “Dumb and Dumber.” iKON’s upbeat songs paired up with their amazing stage presence sent a pulse of energy throughout the whole stadium that everyone could feel, even those sitting at the very top of the stadium. iKONICs couldn’t stay still, how could they when they were experiencing the remix version of “Sinosijak” and the Rock version of “Rhythm Ta” before their very eyes?
They even had a short summer set by performing “Cocktail” and “Only You” with beach props and a beautiful beach backdrop.
It was a lovely moment when iKON brought back their old songs like “My Type.” They also graced our ears with their new songs such as “Killing Me,” “Freedom,” and “Goodbye Road.” iKON confessed that it was their first time performing “Goodbye Road” outside of Korea.
iKON’s Outstanding Talent
iKON really managed to show off their vocal and rap skills during this concert. The vocal line which consists of Ju-ne, Jay, DK, Song and Chan melted our hearts with their beautiful voices while singing “Perfect.”
B.I set the stage on fire with his solo song, “One and Only” and Bobby took over night after that with his solo performance, “Holup.” In the end, they both joined forces and performed “Anthem.”
Their Sweet Personalities
iKONICs are familiar with the members funny and easy-going personalities and humor. Every single sentence brought a wave of screams and laughs throughout the crowd. iKONICs were so grateful because the members tried their best to speak English. Jay charmed us with his sarcasm and DK showed us his best dance moves.
At one point, B.I and Bobby were the only ones on stage and Bobby tried his best to translate everything B.I said. They really amused the crowd and even played a little sing-a-long game with the fans. Bobby lost and as a punishment he had to do aegyo.
Bagus Project
The iKON Malaysia Union Fanbase planned three amazing support projects to show iKON just how much their iKONICs love them. The first project was the hand banner event, where they printed out red hand banners that said “iKON is My Everything.” Fans were told to hold this banner up when iKON performed “Everything.”
The second project was called the Violet Ocean event. iKONICs were told to save a purple image from imgur, and then set it as their lock screen wallpaper. The plan was to switch off all Konbats, maximize the brightness of their phones and hold them up during iKON’s “Goodbye Road” stage. This way, the phone screens would mimic an actual “violet ocean” for iKON to see.
The last event was for the encore stage, where fans sang the lyrics to “Long Time No See” while waiting for iKON’s encore. The Fanbase also printed out banners saying “Happy Birthday Han Bin” and sang the birthday song for him for his upcoming 22nd birthday.
Malaysian iKONICs really have such big hearts!
It was such a sight to see the sea of red lights while iKONICs held up their Konbats. iKON really gave us the best performance we could have ever asked for. At the same time, the support from the Malaysian iKONICs really contributed to the whole experience as well. We hope that they will come back soon after they finish up their CONTINUE TOUR and have a good rest back at home.
