On March 23rd, the nation’s heartthrob, Ong Seongwu captivated over 4,000 fans for his first ever solo fanmeeting , <ETERNITY> in Malaysia. The stage flashed with disco lights as he appeared in a denim outfit, a total boyfriend look! The fan meeting began with Seongwu covering “Treasure” for his opening stage, with his sharp dance skills that had everyone screaming their lungs out.
After finishing his first performance, Seongwu greeted his fans with “Selamat Petang, Saya Seongwu” (Good evening I’m Seongwu) while waving towards the crowd which had fans squealing over his cute Malay accent. For the OngTalk segment, Seongwu revealed his secrets for being handsome by thanking his parents, stylists and also the camera man who takes good pictures of him.
Seongwu said that his favorite local foods were the street food that he tried at the nightmarket, including satay and various drinks. He also teased the fans by asking if the fans have time to eat dinner with him – but they caught him by surprise when he realised the fans could understand Korean before the interpreter could even translate! He had to acknowledge that the Malaysian fans are sensational!
Although he feels lonely and misses his members, Seongwu stated that as a soloist, he is able to show more sides of himself. He also demonstrated brushing his teeth by putting toothpaste on the toothbrush first then dipping it in water – and even showed his quirky abilities like folding his ears and bending his thumbs 90 degree backwards, which had the whole stadium in disbelief.
Random trivial questions such as at what percentage does Seongwu charge his phone – he answered when it reaches 10%. He also made an impression with his freestyle dance while teaching the emcee the dance steps and even praising her for her good skills.
He was flustered with a question about returning to Sabah and he replied that he would bring a bag full of food before departing – referring to the survival show he recently shot there!
When asked if he had 5 days to spend in Malaysia, Seongwu said he would spend it eating delicious foods, doing VLIVEs, taking pictures and sleeping. For selca tips, Seongwu preferred to pose with a peace sign showing the right side of his face – and this lead to him having selcas with the crowd from every direction!
For the OngStagram sgement, Seongwu commented on every Instagram post that he captured, including the trip to Da Nang he had with his family. He took a photo of a palm tree silhouette near the swimming pool and commented hat he found that the photo was fascinating. Meanwhile for the OngPlay segment, he danced to a medley of WANNA ONE’s hit songs and even danced sexily to it!
Right after, Seongwu had us stunned with his gray suit while performing “Please“, which left the crowd starstruck with his powerful high note!
During the missions segment, for the first mission, he needed to catch 5 dolls through the arcade claw game to be given for lucky fans. Fans went crazy – but he only managed to catch two dolls which he signed and kissed for two lucky fans!
As his favorite drink is Caramel Macchiato, Seongwu continued with his second mission called “What’s In The Coffee?” which required him to pick a coffee and drinking it without having any reaction for 7 seconds. If he succeeded, a fan would get a gift! Instead of picking the right one, he accidentally picked the one which tasted salty and had everyone burst out laughing! Needless to say, he picked a salty coffee and failed!
For the third segment “Let’s Sing A Malaysian Song“, Seongwu learned on how to sing “Rasa Sayang” with the help of fans and even teased the crowd with “Sayang awak” (“Love you”). As part of the fanproject, fans created an ocean of blue and yellow light that filled the hall during Seongwu’s performance, “Love This Moment”.
Fans demanded an encore and Seongwu came back out in black attire, to perform “That’s What I Like” to mark an end for the night. He portrayed his fans as an always and forever, beautiful flowers – then they proceeded with the hi-touch right after, along with the group photo sessions.
It was a fine moments for fans, who received superb fanservice from Seongwu! We hope that he will return to Malaysia for another event and have a good rest on the way back home.
