[MALAYSIA] 82MAJOR Set Kuala Lumpur Ablaze with Their Explosive <82 SYNDROME> Concert

82MAJOR, one of the most prominent 5th generation K-Pop group made their highly-anticipated return to Malaysia with <82 SYNDROME> in KUALA LUMPUR on October 4, 2025 at Idea Live Arena. The night brimmed with excitement as it marked their first reunion with Malaysian 82DEs since the <X-82> Asia Fanmeeting in February 2025.

<82 SYNDROME> opened the show with an explosive performance of Choke, instantly igniting the crowd. The track’s fierce rhythm and razor-sharp choreography perfectly embodied 82MAJOR’s unique sound, setting the tone for an unforgettable night. Riding the wave of energy, the group transitioned seamlessly into Passport, a song that recognizes the fans’ unwavering dedication in following their artistic journey across borders.

Afterwards, 82MAJOR formally greeted the crowd with their first ment, expressing how much they had missed Malaysian fans. They shared light-hearted stories about meeting monkeys at Batu Caves and playfully asked for local food recommendations, teasing the crowd when the eager shouts of responses turned hilariously incoherent.

The next set brought some of the group’s most beloved stages. First Class showcased their clean synchronization and addictive chorus, while Thorn delivered a moment of introspection- a beautiful reminder of the struggles and sacrifices behind their dreams.

Then came one of the evening’s sweetest surprises: a heartfelt cover of Meteor Rain, the timeless hit by Taiwanese boy band F4. The crowd erupted with nostalgia, singing along to every word. The mood lifted further with Birthday, a playful and witty number with a clever callback to the classic ‘Happy Birthday’ tune. Their smooth transition into Say More highlighted their R&B-hip-hop versatility, blending soulful vocals with confident groove.

As the lights dimmed for the next ment, 82MAJOR teased special cover performances — and the fans’ anticipation paid off. The familiar beat of Whiplash by aespa filled the arena, sending waves of excitement through the audience. Seongmo, Seongbin, and Dogyun delivered a flawless stage, perfectly capturing both the charisma and technical finesse of the original. The bridge, featuring Giselle’s iconic choreography, drew an especially loud reaction from the crowd.

Without missing a beat, Seongil, Yechan, and Seokjun stormed the stage with Tomboy by i-dle. Their rendition gave the song a fresh, powerful twist, showcasing 82MAJOR’s creativity and individuality through the self-written rap changes that they made to the song. The crowd’s energy peaked as the members playfully recreated snippets of both covers, much to the delight of screaming fans.

The momentum carried through with Facetime, a track bursting with youthful energy and playful charm which is a perfect reflection of 82MAJOR’s dynamic connection with their fans. This was followed by Suspicious, a pre-release favourite that stood out with its edgy sound and commanding choreography, capturing the darker, cooler side of the group, driving the fans wild.

A humorous VCR interlude featuring the members attempting (and hilariously failing) the try not to laugh challenge gave the audience a well-deserved breather, showcasing their goofy, down-to-earth personalities. Laughter echoed through the hall, allowing the fans to bask in the members’ humorous personality contrary to the intense stages that were showcased through the night.

When the lights returned, 82MAJOR switched gears entirely with Stuck, a bold alternative hip-hop number that oozed confidence. They followed it with Gossip, an unapologetic anthem urging listeners to stay focused on their grind and ignore the noise of others. Finally, TAKEOVER closed the main set with an explosive finish. Living up to its confrontational title — 뭘 봐 (“What are you looking at?”) — the members delivered with unshakable charisma, asserting their dominance on stage and ending the main show with a literal and metaphorical bang.

As the lights dimmed, the arena filled with passionate chants for an encore. The fans initiated a touching Promise You sing-along project, their voices blending beautifully with the instrumental track, a heartfelt gesture that set the perfect tone for what was to come.

82MAJOR soon re-emerged in casual t-shirts and jeans, kicking off their encore with Sure Thing. The stage softened into a warm, intimate moment, the members smiling and waving as they sang. Their light-hearted vocals and relaxed demeanour created a sense of ease, as if the distance between artist and audience had melted away. The performance embodied trust, a sure thing built on the bond between 82MAJOR and their fans.

Promise You followed as the emotional finale. With tender voices and visible gratitude, the members turned the song into a genuine promise to their fans. The moment was especially meaningful since 82DEs had sung it to them moments earlier, reflecting a beautiful exchange of love and devotion between both sides. Together, these encore performances revealed 82MAJOR not just as fierce performers, but as sincere artists who cherish the people behind their success.

But of course, in true 82MAJOR fashion, the night couldn’t end without one last explosion of energy. As the members announced their final encore, they urged everyone to get on their feet (because this was no ordinary closing stage). 82 roared through the arena, and the members gave it everything they had, channeling pure adrenaline and pride into every move. The track wasn’t just a finale; it was their anthem, a declaration of who they are and where they come from. Ultimately, this stage became a powerful reminder that no matter how far they rise, 82MAJOR will always stay rooted in the name, spirit, and brotherhood that built them.
