Malaysian-born SP3CK is one half of DJ duo SAM&SP3CK. They are currently under Natural High Record, the record label founded by Seungri of Big Bang. SAM&SP3CK regularly helm the consoles at Seungri’s nightclubs ‘Monkey Museum’ and ‘Burning Sun’, and are in-demand DJs on the club and festival circuit.
They are also producers and songwriters in their own right, having worked with notable Korean artists CHEETAH, Ravi from VIXX, T-ARA, Vasco and EXID, to name a few.
SP3CK’s background is in accounting and software engineering, and he found himself in the music industry quite late into his career path, breaking into music about ten years ago, after Korean producers came across his work he was publishing on his then Soundcloud profile and began a working relationship with him online.

Eventually, he moved to Seoul at the behest of the small entertainment company he was working for, which is where he met Sam – and they forged a partnership which has been going full force until today, as SAM&SP3CK.
The Seoul Story caught up with him while he was on break back home in Malaysia, to ask him a few questions about working in the Korean music industry. While chilling over the last of his hot tea in the balmy afternoon heat, SP3CK shared some insights into K-pop after working with idols on their solo and group efforts.

“K-pop is on point at this moment. The delivery of it. The fan service. K-pop is not just music anymore, it’s a culture.” – DJ SP3CK
Even though SAM&SP3CK have a lot of songs in the pipeline, he remains tight-lipped about when they will be released, and who they are for. We look forward to hearing and seeing more from the duo!
Special thank you(s) to SP3CK for affording us time and AlexisBistro for letting us film on their premises! 🙂
