After five years, Rising Gods of the East, TVXQ, finally made their way to greet Indonesian Cassiopeias with TVXQ! CONCERT (20&2) in Jakarta on April 20, 2024, at ICE BSD. It was truly a night to remember as the duo showed spectacular performances for their beloved fans, who have been waiting for their return.
The concert started with a grand entrance by U-Know Yunho and Max Changmin. The duo performed Rising Sun as the opening number, a perfect indication that they would tear up the stage that afternoon. It was soon followed by Jungle and The Chance of Love performances.
After a short VCR break, Max Changmin came back on stage to showcase his powerful vocals and dance skills through his solo song, Devil. A wave of nostalgia was then felt when they returned with Wrong Number, their famous R&B track from 2008. They also mesmerised the audience with their prformance of Down.
Following the performances, U-Know Yunho greeted the fans in Bahasa Indonesia, “Selamat sore, ayo nyanyi sama-sama.” (Good afternoon, let’s sing together.) The duo mentioned that it had been so long since they last came to Indonesia, and they were so happy to finally have had the chance to return.
With a picture of a beautiful orange sunset in the background, the duo then continued the concert with Rodeo. Fans were then brought into a wave of memories as they sang Keep Your Head Down and Purple Line. The show became even more enjoyable when the fans took part in a series of fan chant performances. The chants were so clear despite the loud music; no wonder the singers loved the audience’s energy!
In the next segment, the performances became more theatrical. U-Know Yunho came back on stage with a sparkling outfit, while Max Changmin was seen with a bright red suit jacket. U-Know Yunho then kicked started the set with his solo song, Vuja De and it was then followed with Something and Life’s A Dance.
TVXQ then dedicated the next segment in showcasing their vocal prowess with ballads The Way U Are, I Wanna Hold You, and I Believe. The talented singers continued to showcase their beautiful voices with Hug, Balloons, Mirotic, and Love In The Ice. They even surprised their fans by going offstage and greeting fans closer as they sang Crazy Love and Always With You.
As the show was coming to an end, the duo expressed their happiness being able to spend time with Indonesian fans. TVXQ then made a promise to always be better and to come back with even cooler performances in the future. They expressed their gratitude to the audience for always waiting for them. They also specifically said thank you because the Indonesian crowd sang along with much enthusiasm throughout the concert!
They then performed You’re My Miracle with confetti pouring down indicating the end of the show. However, they soon came back on stage for the final time and performed Catch Me as the official ending song. The energetic performance had the audience jumping and screaming, successfully wrapping up the show on a high note.
It was truly an honour to spend a memorable night with the legendary duo. We will definitely wait for your next visit to Jakarta, TVXQ! Thank you MecimaPro for having us.
