[INDONESIA] The ‘Story Of’ Nichkhun and Hottests at ‘No. 264’ Fan Meeting in Jakarta

Charming, flirty, and dedicated are probably the three words that best describe Nichkhun at the ‘No. 264’ fan meeting which took place on April 27, 2024 at Balai Sarbini, Jakarta. It has been nine years since his last visit to the city and the fan meeting certainly left the fans impressed and begging for more!

The multi-talented Nichkhun made his grand entrance by serenading Indonesian Hottests (fandom name) with Stay In, a song from his 2019 EP, Story of…. When asked about the song, he said that he imagined this song to be played on one of those cosy days where you just stay in with your lover and have a cup of hot chocolate right by the fire. In those moments, it feels like you do not need anybody else but each other.

Soon after, the fan meeting continued with a short chit-chat between Nichkhun and the MC. He said that he has been doing really well and as a TMI, he did a full body check-up earlier this year and the doctor said that everything is good. The MC also asked about the meaning of ‘No. 264’, the name of the fan meeting. To this, he explained that it is his birthday but it also marks 2024, the year of the dragon which he hopes will be good for both his solo and group projects. Nichkhun also mentioned that he wishes to see Hottests a lot more this year!

Of course, no fan meeting would be fun without some games! During the first segment, a fan was selected and they were shown the title of one of Nichkhun’s or 2PM’s songs. After that, they had to strike one pose that described the song, to which Nichkhun would have to guess. As expected, both Indonesian Hottests and Nichkhun had an undeniable chemistry and they nailed every song perfectly. It was then followed by a rendition of Story of… which he said is a depiction of his relationship with fans and how no one can beat their romantic story, not even Romeo and Juliet.

If the first game had Nichkhun guessing the songs, it was the fans’ turn to do so for the second game! Nichkhun had to draw a picture according to the song title in under 10 seconds and if the fans failed to guess, he had to do a punishment. Because of how much Nichkhun and his fans understood each other, they actually managed to guess every song flawlessly. Even so, being the gentleman he is, whenever needed, Nichkhun did every punishment just for the fans! The punishment ranged from TWICE’s Look at Me to Jisoo’s Flower dance challenges.

Next, Nichkhun sang a track from his 2019 debut album, ME titled Lucky Charm. During the segment, he elaborated on the meaning of the song which he thinks of as a love story in the morning, filled with unicorns, rainbows, and beautiful dreams. Thereafter, there was a Q&A segment and one of the questions was about his future activities that fans can look forward to. To this, he answered that he cannot go into too much details right now but he assured Hottests that there will be a lot of chances for fans to see him and 2PM on stage!

To end the marvelous night, Nichkhun sang two more songs, Let It Rain and Umbrella. Let It Rain was his solo track from 2PM’s 2013 album GROWN and this song showcased his gratitude for fans who stuck with him through thick and thin throughout his career and how their support has helped him weather the storms in his life. Meanwhile, Umbrella was his love letter to Hottests where he wanted to give back and provide support in return, just like the lyric says, “I’m here for you like you’ve always been for me, together there’s nothing we can’t do“. This proves that there is truly no love story like the one Nichkhun has with Hottests!

“I had so much fun tonight and I hope I gave you guys as much fun as I received. You guys made me feel so welcome! It has been nine years since I was here, but it feels like I have never left. Hopefully, we will see each other more and more after this,” concluded Nichkhun.
