[INDONESIA] The Many Sides of JAY B at 2022 JAY B WORLD TOUR, TAPE: PRESS PAUSE in Jakarta

10 years into his career, JAY B has proven himself as an excellent singer and songwriter through various activities. It is finally his time to show a different side as a soloist through his world tour 2022 JAYB WORLD TOUR, TAPE: PRESS PAUSE. He picked Jakarta as one of the tour stops to reunite with Indonesian AHGASEs after his last visit in 2019. The long awaited event was worth the wait as we get to see JAY B with his brand new image, yet still with the same humble and lovely persona just like when he debuted the first time.

The Sexy Side Of JAY B

After starting his solo career in a new agency, JAY B explored more as a hip-hop and R&B artist. This side can clearly be seen through his first mini album SOMO: FUME. Working with top Korean R&B artists and composers such as Jay Park, Cha Cha Malone, GroovyRoom, and sokodomo, the album successfully showcased his soft and tender voice in laid-back and groovy tracks that received well responses from fans and general public.

Throughout the first section of his concert, JAY B flawlessly executed the songs from his SOMO:FUME album while incorporating seductive dance moves that highlighted his live vocals and dancing skills. Switch It Up as the set opener became an alluring performance with its sexy lyrics combined with smooth dance moves from JAY B and his crews. The night grew sexier with performances of AM PM, B.T.W., and In To You. The dance break during Ride, a track from GOT7 album, proved how multi-talented JAY B is, with continuous screams from supportive fans.

Other than the sexy tracks from his first mini album, the first section of the concert was also filled with his inviting voice through his older tracks and collaborations released throughout his career. JAY B performed Dive Into You, an original soundtrack that he sang for drama Crazy Love and Hush, a collaboration song he did with hip-hop musician Primary. It was also a nostalgic night for the crowd as he performed Sunrise, his solo track from GOT7 album and Fade Away, from JJ Project’s mini album.

The Funky Side Of JAY B

Standing as a soloist, JAY B has shown a contrast in music genres and concepts, evident with the transition from his first and second mini album titled Be Yourself. With the theme of celebrating being free and true to yourself, JAY B explored more groovy and funky R&B pop tracks.

The second section of JAY B’s concert was also filled with funky and exciting dance moves starting with title track, go UP. High energy filled the entire venue as JAY B and AHGASEs moved in sync. Continuing the set with The Way We Are, JAY B interacted more with fans and even asked the audience to sing along together. The interaction became even closer as JAY B went down the stage and interacted freely with AHGASEs during Fountain of Youth. He showcased his dancing skill once again during the dance break of Break It Down.

The Loving Side Of JAY B

It has been a long time since JAY B last met Indonesian AHGASEs which made the night even more special as he interacted a lot with the audience. He also shared his experience in Jakarta, from eating many delicious food to watching K-Pop dance cover competitions with a lot of great performances that made him want to join.

As the concert almost came to an end, Indonesian AHGASEs prepared a special event for JAY B through an animation video wrapping up the last ten years of his journey as an idol. He was especially touched when the video showed that although a lot of AHGASEs have moved forward in life, from a student to an employee, a married woman, and even a mother, JAY B remained as a vitamin that AHGASEs will always cherish and support. He wished to always be a comfort and safe place for AHGASEs to return to and then proceeded to sing Rocking Chair.

The concert then soon turned into a beautiful encore with a compilation of GOT7 hits, Nanana, Page, Thursday, Breath, and Teenager, where JAY B asked the audience to jump together. He also showed another side of him by singing two of his tracks on Soundcloud, def., Pray and right before resuming the encore party with Go Higher.

It was truly a magical night where we witnessed the many sides of JAY B as a talented singer and musician, while also capturing the love he has for AHGASEs who have been supporting his journey for the last ten years.
