SEVENTEEN just made another visit to Jakarta last Saturday. Have you recovered from the post-concert syndrome yet? Because we haven’t! Here are ten memorable things that make it really hard to move on:
1. It’s SEVENTEEN 4th concert in Jakarta
SEVENTEEN must love Indonesian CARATs a lot! For four years straight, they never missed having a tour in Jakarta. This year felt even more special as the concert was held in a stadium in the centre of the city. On top of that, the tickets were all sold out. CARATs power!
2. An Ode To CARATs
SEVENTEEN kicked off the start of their ‘Ode To You‘ world tour in Seoul on August 30th. Thereafter, on September 16th, the self-producing group released their third full-length album titled ‘An Ode‘. Throughout this concert, we can pretty much say SEVENTEEN sings an ode to CARATs. Compared to their previous powerful set-list, “Ode To You” contains many deep and emotional B-sides tracks, such as ‘Smile Flower‘, ‘Can’t See The End‘, ‘Lilili Yabbay‘, ‘Trauma‘, ‘Hug‘ and ‘Don’t Listen In Secret‘.
3. The abscence of S.COUPS and Jeonghan
We pray for the speedy recovery of SEVENTEEN’s two oldest members! S.COUPS and Jeonghan participated halfway through the concert before finally taking a rest backstage. Wonwoo revealed that the two really wanted to go until the end, but their health said otherwise and they were very sorry about that. Sometimes it’s okay to put on a stop, boys! We’re human after all.
4. Dino’s energy check and Joshua’s gentleman manners everywhere
To not dwell more on the sadness, SEVENTEEN did some comedic acts and brought the mood up again. Seungkwan, as the group’s MC, threw the bait to the youngest as he said, “Energy check is Dino’s job!”. Dino then surprised the audience when he shouted, “Mana suaranya?” (means: where’s your voice?), making CARATs laugh hysterically. After Dino did the energy check by asking CARATs to repeat what he says, Seungkwan threw another bait to Joshua by saying, “We haven’t heard the word gentleman today!“. Joshua grinned as he led another session of energy check with his most favourite line: ‘gentleman’.
5. Wonwoo remembers Yogyakarta
Seems like his last trip in Yogyakarta made a good impression on Wonwoo! Going there with S.COUPS and Jeonghan for KBS Battle Trip, Wonwoo confessed they really had fun and brought up the remarkable line “Mahal” (means: expensive) that Jeonghan always said when he bargained for things. Wonwoo kept blurting “Mahal! Mahal” out of nowhere even during encore stage. What a cutie!
6. Oh My! slower version
SEVENTEEN had many surprises in store for CARATs! One of them was the sudden change in speed during ‘Oh My!’. When Dino’s bridge part came, the song turned 2x slower and so did their dance! They took the time to just goofed around with each other. But of course they still nailed the dance. We know SEVENTEEN already mastered 2x speed faster dance in Weekly Idol, 2x speed slower is a piece of cake for them!
7. Snap Shoot teaser
Another surprise! SEVENTEEN sang a snippet of their latest B-side ‘Snap Shoot‘ during the encore ment. CARATs can’t help but sing along with them, only to have it end after a while. They really know how to tease CARATs, don’t they?
8. Feeling energised by CARATs cheers
CARATs’ never-ending cheers radiated a huge energy, The8 confirmed that. During their encore ment, The8 said, “I know you’ve been waiting for us, I can feel the longing and seeing you make us feel energised! I wish you’re happy throughout this concert. I’ll remember today as a very memorable day. See you again!“
9. Another promise
They made another promise to have an even better and bigger stage again soon! CARATs will always trust SEVENTEEN, let’s meet again soon!
10. Special treat for CARATs: official L-Holder
The promoter, Mecima Production prepared a special present for Indonesian CARATs. It’s an official SEVENTEEN ‘Ode To You’ L-Holder, that has the group’s photo on the front side. It was given to each audience at the exit door. What a perfect gift to commemorate the beautiful day!
Those are ten things we cannot get over yet from SEVENTEEN’s last concert in Jakarta. We’d like to thank Mecima Production for inviting us to this amazing concert! 🙂
