[INDONESIA] Super Rookie Energy of Stray Kids at UNVEIL TOUR ‘I am…’ in Jakarta

After surviving a reality show and debuting as a group last year, the super rookie group, Stray Kids started their overseas tour and chose Jakarta as the second stop of the tour. They’re visiting the country for the second time after becoming one of the guest stars on Spotify On Stage last September. “UNVEIL Tour ‘I am…” in Jakarta was held on 27th January 2019 at Hall 5 Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) BSD City. We could feel the enthusiasm from both Stray Kids and Indonesian STAYs as they performed around 18 songs that night with full energy.

Never Ending Energy of Stray Kids

As they said during the press conference, high energy performances are what makes Stray Kids different from others and they proved it once again during the concert that night. They started the show with exciting songs like ‘Hellevator’, ‘Grr….’, ‘Awaken‘, and ‘District 9’ that successfully pumped up STAYs’ energy from the start. But the powerful performances didn’t stop there. They proceeded to continue the show with other upbeat songs like ‘Mirror’, ‘Insomnia’, and ‘Voices’. Of course, they still impressed with their live vocals, raps, and dances for those songs.

Strong as a Group and Powerful as a Unit

We’ve already come to a conclusion that Stray Kids deliver energetic performances as a group. But in this concert, we also got the chance to witness them in three powerful sub units, performing songs with different styles.

The first unit was Bangchan, Hyunjin, and Seungmin who performed ‘4419’, showcasing their graceful dances to the mellow song. After that, we saw Lee Know, Felix, and Changbin performing ‘Glow’ with nice rap and vocal execution. The last unit song was ‘School Life’, a more fun and energetic song that was performed by I.N, Woojin, and Han. The rest of the members then came back to the stage and sang the song together. These unit performances were able to show more sides of the Stray Kids members that we probably didn’t notice before, which nicely complemented the show.

Strong Bonds between Idol and Fans

That night, we didn’t only witness high energy performances from Stray Kids, but we also got a glimpse of their cute side when they performed more fun songs like ‘My Pace’, ‘Awkward Silence’, ‘Get Cool’, and ‘Grow Up’. They mostly just ran around and jumped during the encore while taking cute stuff from the fans and showing cute faces that made them all want to scream in happiness.

We also got to see cute interactions between Stray Kids and STAYs during this concert. Changbin, who successfully learned some Indonesian words, said, “Aku Cinta Kamu” (I Love You) and “Mantul” (Truly Great), which received great responses from the fans.

Stray Kids also noticed the hand banner project from Indonesian STAYs with “STRAY KIDS MAKE US STAY” written on it. Stray Kids then answered the message by saying “STAYS MAKE STRAY KIDS STAY” in unison, showing strong bonds between Stray Kids and STAYs as the fans. Before the concert ended, Bangchan also asked STAYs to say “Hey” when he says “STAY” so that he could find STAYs wherever he is. They also hoped that STAYs will keep supporting them for a long time and made a promise to visit Jakarta again soon.
