A relationship between two countries can be strengthened through an exchange of culture. This is exactly what South Korea and Indonesia have done through “Korea-Indonesia Film Festival” (shortened as KIFF) that has been held routinely for the last 10 years. Featuring 15 top Korean movies and 5 top Indonesian movies, a 3-day movie festival was held in five big cities in Indonesia.
The opening ceremony of KIFF 2019 was held at CGV Grand Indonesia, Jakarta on October 10th 2019. Top Korean actress Kang Sora graced the ceremony as a special guest. She acted in the movie “Sunny”, one of the top Korean movies shown in this festival.
She made a short speech during the opening ceremony sharing how proud she is to be an ambassador of a long-running movie festival like KIFF. She hoped the festival will continue being held annually in the future. Cutting the opening ceremony ribbon together with Indonesian actor, Angga Yunanda, and important people behind the festival, Korea-Indonesia Film Festival 2019 was officially started with movie, “The Bad Guys“, as the opening.
The Bad Guys starring Korean top actors like Ma Dong Seok, Jang Ki Young, and Kim Ah Joong started KIFF with high energy. The movie is adapted from a Korean drama with the same title and tells a story about team of detectives trying to catch dangerous escaped prisoners who worked for the Yakuza.
For those who live in Jakarta, Bandung, Yogyakarta, Surabaya, and Medan and hoping to see Korean or Indonesian movies again this weekend, you still got a chance! P.s.: you only need to pay for 15.000 rupiah :D. Here’s more detail about the movie lists
We would like to thank KCC Indonesia for the invitation! Hope to see more cultural exchange event like this in the future ♥️
