On 25 January 2019, Stray Kids held a press conference to talk about their UNVEIL Tour ‘I am…’ concert that would be held the next day. The nine-member group had won 8 “Rookie of the Year” awards in 2018 and in 2019, is currently known as the rookie king in K-Pop industry. Less than a year after their debut, they have already held an overseas tour and made a stop at Jakarta, Indonesia. This was their second visit to Jakarta after attending Spotify on Stage last September.
Bangchan, Woojin, Lee Know, Changbin, Han, Hyunjin, Felix, Seungmin, and I.N entered the press conference room in black military uniforms that accentuated their charm and charisma. They introduced themselves in the Indonesian language and showed excellent knowledge of words and good Indonesian accents.
Bangchan answered the first question, saying that they decided to come to Indonesia for a solo concert after seeing high energy and enthusiasm from Indonesian fans during their last visit. The high enthusiasm was proven to be true when they saw a lot of fans welcoming them at the airport the day before. Han also said that they felt really touched because Indonesian fans could sing along to their songs really well even though it’s in a different language.
Stray Kids also showered the fans with love by saying that STAYs mean a lot to them because without STAYs, they couldn’t exist. Seungmin said that thanks to STAYs, they got the opportunity to hold an overseas tour less than a year after their debut. To reply to STAYs’ love for them, they would love to explore more music genres in the future but still highlight their specialty, which are high energy performances that fans can enjoy.
About the concert the day after, I.N said that they prepared a special performance only for Indonesian STAYs. Felix added that it was such an honor to perform in many countries, especially here in Indonesia for the second time. Stray Kids then ended the press conference after showing their best cute poses and taking a group photo.
