[INDONESIA] Starting a Good Year with BLACKPINK ‘In Your Area’ Jakarta

Only two months after their last visit, BLACKPINK headed back to Jakarta for their solo concert 2019 World Tour ‘In Your Area‘ on 19 & 20 January 2019 at Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) BSD. For approximately two hours, BLINKs were spoiled with never-ending charms from the girls.

A Strong Kick-off and Special Solo Stages

Opening Day 2’s show with last year’s phenomenal hits ‘Ddu-Du Ddu-Du‘ and B-side track ‘Forever Young‘, BLACKPINK gained very loud cheers from BLINKs as the excitement heated up the atmosphere rapidly. Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa briefly greeted the pink ocean in front of them before continuing with ‘Stay‘ and ‘Whistle‘.

The first one to go for her solo stage was Jisoo. She elegantly sang a Korean cover of ‘Clarity‘, which really suited her vocal colour. Lisa was next to burn up the stage with her breathtaking dance to ‘Take Me‘ and ‘Swalla‘. As soon as the temperature went up higher, it was Rosé’s turn to cool down the heat with ‘Let It Be‘, ‘You and I‘, and ‘Only Look at Me‘. Jennie was the last to perform her solo debut song ‘Solo‘, mixing her own swag with cuteness.

Energetic Live Performance

The whole group came back on stage to deliver ‘Kiss and Make Up‘, ‘So Hot‘, and ‘Playing with Fire‘. During the talk, they also introduced the live band accompanying them throughout the tour. The band thoroughly complemented their performance that night, and it was no wonder why their singing sounded more powerful!

The show continued with BLACKPINK performing ‘Really‘, ‘See U Later‘, dance covers of ‘16 shots‘, ‘Boombayah‘, and ‘As If It’s Your Last‘, which got BLINKs to jump along with them. Catching their breaths, the girls continued to communicate with the crowd throughout. They said it was pitiful when it was already time to say goodbye, because they wanted to stay longer!

Passionately Conversing in Indonesian

BLACKPINK members are known for their multilingual skills. But it was still astonishing to watch them speak Indonesian and pick up some trendy slangs. Rosé told BLINKs to have fun with them, and said, “Mari bersenang-senang.“.

During intermission, she requested BLINKs create a wave with their BI-ping-bong as she ran around the stage. When BLINKs successfully did it, Jennie put her thumbs up and praised them by saying, “Kalian mantap!”.

In addition, Jisoo claimed that BLINKs are cute by saying “BLINK(s) unyu!“. Meanwhile Lisa guaranteed they will be together forever, and said, “Kita bersama selamanya.“. Their antics earned a great response from the audience and many BLINKs expressed how cute the girls were while trying to speak Indonesian.

The concert ended with another round of ‘Ddu-Du Ddu-Du‘ and ‘Stay‘. However, before they really bid goodbye, the girls made a promise that they’ll definitely be back in Jakarta again.
