[INDONESIA] Rock n Roll Night with DAY6 at Youth Tour in Jakarta

2018 has been a wonderful year for Indonesian My Days. Not only did DAY6 release another album full of bangers and started their own world tour, they also returned to Indonesia for a long overdue solo concert on Saturday, 8 December 2018 at The Kasablanka Hall. And once again, DAY6 proved why their live performance is worthy of being in anyone’s bucket list.

A Ball of Relentless Energy
DAY6 has always been a bundle of energy that can’t be contained. So it was no surprise to see them starting the concert with a medley of “I Smile”“First Time”, and “Better Better”. It was enough to excite every Indonesian My Days in the concert hall, but the five boys definitely had other plans. With a loud, “That’s what I’m talking about, Jakarta!” from Jae, they turned up the heat even further with their patented party songs. From “Whatever!” and “Say Wow” to “Like That Sun”“Be Lazy”, and “Dance Dance”, DAY6 went all out with their performances. They were so energetic, it’s hard not to dance and jump to every song and even so for songs with touching lyrics like “Pouring”“Somehow”“Talking To”“You Were Beautiful”“I Loved You”, and “I Like You”. In return, Indonesian My Days jumped, screamed, danced, and sang out loud to the lyrics they know by heart.

A Chorus of Heartfelt Voices
“I have a special request, would you guys do it?” Wonpil said right before he coached Indonesian My Days how to sing the chorus of “I Need Somebody”. My Days proved once again just how beautiful and heartfelt their singing were during “How Can I say”“I’m Serious”, and “Congratulations”. The boys were so impressed that Wonpil said it felt like a collaboration rather than a concert, much to the joy of My Days. Even Dowoon joined in with a drum solo that showed his excitement, while Sungjin played a guitar solo that had Young K deadpanning, “You could’ve just talked”. Fuelled by My Days’ energy, the five boys went back to rocking the stage with a parade of hits. “I Wait”“What Can I Do”“Warning”, and “Shoot Me” turned the concert into an all out festivity while simultaneously let them showed their musical versatility. Those guitar riffs and improvisations were so good it made My Days had trouble breathing.

A Promise to Keep for My Days

The party was not over yet! In black tees and jeans, DAY6 returned on stage with “Letting Go”, the song that had My Days earnestly singing their hearts out. It was impossible then for DAY6 not to stop and expressed their sincere thoughts towards Indonesian My Days. But the most memorable moment of the night happened when Young K took the mic. With a genuine smile on his face, he asked My Days to make a promise with him. “Until we come back to Jakarta, promise me that you guys will stay happy at all times. If not possible, try as hard as you can to stay happy. Can you promise that for me?” he asked, effectively turning My Days into a puddle of soft feelings. Everyone was so touched and tears could be seen here and there, especially when he said, “Jangan lupa bahagia.” (Don’t forget to be happy)

With that message in mind, DAY6 chose “I Wish” as their next song, telling My Days it’s a song about wanting to be happy. Something that they wish My Days would be even when they’re not currently in Jakarta. But of course, it wouldn’t be DAY6 if they ended the concert in such soft mood. So they crank up the party vibes with “Freely” and “Sing Me” as they ran around on stage and off stage. The ground was legit shaking because everyone went crazy during those two final stages, as if they were determined to make a memory that will forever be burned in their mind. And it surely was, because it was a night that left My Days feeling happier and better than ever.

The Seoul Story would like to extend our huge thank you to Mecimapro for the chance to be a part of the magical night & to Day6 for their exceptional performances 🙂
