The boy who was in charge of being the cute one in WANNA ONE has fully grown into a fine man and recently made a return to Indonesia. Park Ji Hoon celebrated Valentines’ Day with Indonesian MAYs at his PARK JI HOON FANCON ASIA TOUR ‘360‘ IN JAKARTA on Feb 15 at ICE BSD.
Let’s take a look at the highlights of the night!
Wide range of performance
Appearing on stage with a bright yellow shirt and two little stars tattooed under his left eye, Ji Hoon began the show with songs from his debut album, ‘L.O.V.E‘ and ‘Young 20‘. It is no secret that Ji Hoon is the king of aegyo and he never forgot to make hearts or send finger hearts to MAYs in between performances. The cuteness peaked at ‘Would You‘ when he stepped side to side while dancing adorably to the music with his standing microphone.
Ji Hoon also gave a nod to his WANNA ONE days by performing his own version of ‘Day By Day‘, earning a very hot response from MAYs! He exuded his boyish and playful charms through a cover of ‘So Good‘ by Jay Park.
Contrary to his pure and innocent debut image, Ji Hoon displayed a more mature and sexy side of him that he also brought into his performances. MAYs cheered loudly for Ji Hoon while he performed his recent songs ‘360‘, ‘Casiopea‘ and ‘Whistle’ in a sexier outfit and showed off flirty moves. Ji Hoon showed diverse images through a variety of performances like the real artist he is.
The rise of Go Young Soo and Valentines’ gift for MAY
Ji Hoon recently made his acting return in historical rom-com Flower Crew: Joseon Marriage Agency, as matchmaker Go Young Soo. That night, Ji Hoon surprised MAYs by dressing up as Go Young Soo, complete with his signature green Joseon traditional attire.
While talking about his roles and acting experience as Go Young Soo, Ji Hoon couldn’t hide his sheepish grin when the screen showed Ma Hoon (played by Kim Min Jae) and Gae-ttong‘s (played by Gong Seung Yeon) kiss scene that was initiated by Go Young Soo’s actions. During the segment, Ji Hoon also tried drawing his pet dog Max with a traditional paintbrush. He also reenacted some of his memorable scenes from his drama, including his famous line, “I’m Go Young Soo“.
As the Fan-con was held a day after Valentines’ Day. Ji Hoon celebrated the special day with MAYs! He proved to be a sweetheart, personally preparing many Valentine’s gift for MAYs. He gave four signed balls that he previously won through during the game sessions to lucky MAYs. Ji Hoon also presented the painting of Max, and a giant Bokjumeoni (Korean’s fortune pouch) he personally filled with chocolates, candies, a mirror, a doll and a polaroid photo of him.
Countless gratitude and admiration to MAYs
It was two long years since Ji Hoon’s last visit to Indonesia, but MAYs’ love for him remained unchanged. Looks like Ji Hoon could also feel the emotion through MAYs’ reactions that night! MAYs always cheered loudly for his every action. “MAYs are cute,” he said proudly.
“I’m very honored to end this tour in Jakarta. I will always remember this day.” Ji Hoon also mentioned the recent COVID-19 outbreak and made a promise to come back again in a healthy environment.
“Thank you for always loving me. I won’t have these opportunities if not for MAYs. I might be saying this often, but it’s from my deepest heart. Everyday feels precious because of MAYs. I will keep working hard.” Ji Hoon ended his speech by shouting in Indonesian, “Aku cinta MAY!” (I love MAY)
Ji Hoon performed remixed version of ‘L.O.V.E’ as the encore stage, where he blew kisses and did aegyo to MAYs in every section.
“Bye bye. I love you, MAYs. Take care on your way home,” was the last thing Ji Hoon said before making his exit.
It was undoubtedly entertaining to witness Park Ji Hoon’s cute acts and his exceptional performing skills. The Seoul Story would like to thank Cana Global Media and Gold Light Entertainment for the invitation to this amazing show.
