[INDONESIA] One Step Closer with SUHO at SU:HOME in Jakarta

On August 10, 2024, Tennis Indoor Senayan was completely pink as Indonesian EXO-Ls gathered for 2024 SUHO CONCERT (SU:HOME) IN JAKARTA. It was the singer’s first solo concert in the country, thus the fans were very excited to finally see what SUHO had to offer as a soloist!

SUHO really took the SU:HOME concept seriously as he showed up for the first time being comfortable on a flowery bed. Shortly after “waking up,”  the star grabbed his blue electric guitar and began to magnetise his guests with his vocal and guitar skills through Mayday, Morning Star, Grey Suit, and Self Potrait.

Secretly a Pro in Bahasa Indonesia

Having visited Indonesia several times in the past with his fellow EXO members, it was not surprising to find out that SUHO is good at Bahasa Indonesia. Following the opening performances, he greeted EXO-Ls with full Bahasa Indonesia. “Halo, saya SUHO dari EXO. Aku kangen kalian semua.” (Hello, I’m Suho from EXO. I missed all of you.) He then playfully asked, “Did you miss me?” which was replied by a big “Yes!” from the crowd.

Throughout the concert, SUHO continued to impress the audience with his Bahasa Indonesia. He called EXO-Ls “incess-incessku” (My princesses) after learning it from the interpreter during his ment. Besides the flirty remark, he also expressed his wish, “Semoga kita selalu bersama, aku cinta kalian.” (Hope we can always be together, I love you guys.) We love you too, SUHO!

Everybody Had Fun

Mid-concert, Suho took the time to express his happiness upon seeing that the fans enjoy the event. Throughout the performances of his upbeat songs, such as Cheese and 1 to 3, EXO-Ls were seen happily dancing with each other in the crowd. The singer stated that if the fans were enjoying his concert, it allowed him to enjoy it even more. SUHO then asked the audience to keep enjoying the concert until the end.

It wasn’t just SUHO and EXO-L who had the best time of their lives that day, the personnel of Suho Band also felt the overwhelming happiness from performing in Jakarta. EJAE, the bassist, expressed that after seeing the audience having fun, she felt like she was performing in a festival rather than a concert. She would treasure the moment forever and felt thankful for the love given to SUHO and The Band. Ju Younghun behind the drum also mentioned that Jakarta will be his favourite city, all thanks to EXO-Ls!

Mini EXO Concert

It seemed like SUHO knew very well that the fans were dying to see EXO comeback as a full group. Near the end of the concert, he prepared an EXO special segment where he performed several hits from the phenomenal group. SUHO started the segment by singing the recently viral The First Snow along with the enthusiastic EXO-Ls.

After a quick outfit change, the leader took everyone by surprise upon performing EXO-L’s national anthem, Growl. The surprise certainly did not end there because the performance was quickly followed by Overdose. Although he is the lead singer of the group, SUHO decided to perform the rap parts of the song, proving that he is indeed multitalented. The segment then concluded with Monster performance, which was accompanied by passionate fan chants from the audience.

Two hours and a half later, it was finally time for SUHO to say good bye. At first, the audience chanted in unison, “Gak mau pulang, maunya digoyang!” (Don’t want to go home, just want to dance!) to refuse the end of the concert, but SUHO jokingly said, “You have to go home, sorry sorry. Your mothers will be worried.”

He conveyed his gratitude to the fans who came, as well as to the staffs who made the concert happen. He was relieved that the entire Asia tour went smoothly without anyone being hurt. As the leader of EXO, he asked EXO-Ls to be patient because the group will soon be reunited along with Kai and Sehun, who are now doing their military duty.

The concert officially closed as SUHO sang the melodious Moment and Made In You. The beautiful lyrics were the reminder that SUHO and EXO-Ls complete each other, and they will always stay by each other’s side.

Until next time, Suho!
