The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Korea, in collaboration with Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA), hosted the ‘Ji Chang Wook Fansign Event in KOREA 360’. The event took place at Lotte Mall, Jakarta on May 12, 2024.
KOCCA has established a collaborative system among government agencies to revitalize the collective export value of industries related to K-Content. They have done various support projects, including organizing K-Expo exhibitions, establishing KOREA 360 as the Korean Cultural Promotion Centre in Indonesia, and implementing Hallyu Marketing projects.
Specifically, the Hallyu Marketing project involves collaboration among various relevant institutions to facilitate the creation of product placement advertisements (PPL) for leading industries such as food or consumer goods within the K-Contents that are high in popularity overseas.
Alongside the free fansign event with actor Ji Chang Wook, there was also an exhibition of products from diverse industries supported by the Hallyu Marketing project. The exhibition aimed to introduce various Korean products to local customers who visited the KOREA 360 area
Before the fansign began, Ji Chang Wook participated in a press conference session with various media outlets. The press conference was also attended by Kim Young Soo, as the Regional Director of KOCCA Indonesia. The event proceeded with a hand-printing placement at COLLECT Town KOREA 360. A total of 138 handprints of Korean actors and artists, including Ji Chang Wook’s, are on display at this Korean Cultural Promotion Centre.
As soon as the actor arrived at the Main Atrium of KOREA 360, cheers erupted, welcoming him warmly. Ji Chang Wook spent some time to talk about his life updates and played a mini quiz with his fans. The actor revealed that he visited Bali and Labuan Bajo prior to this fansign event. He also shared that he has three upcoming projects to be released. One of them is a sageuk (traditional K-Drama) which will be released on August, the other one is another K-Drama titled Gangnam B-Side that is set to air at the end of the year, and the last project is a movie. Some lucky fans even got the chance to go on stage and had a personal photo session with Ji Chang Wook as the reward from the mini quiz
The festivities continued with the long-awaited fansign session where a hundred lucky winners from the previously announced ‘K-Drama Product Hunt’ Challenge participated. The challenge itself was joined by around three thousand fans, once again proving the massive interest Indonesian fans have for Ji Chang Wook and Korean culture. Not only for the fans, ‘Ji Chang Wook Fansign Event in KOREAN 360’ surely was a memorable moment for us as well.
