[INDONESIA] On Top of The World with Sejeong at 2022 Sejeong’s Sesang Diary in Jakarta

Known for her amazing voice and great acting, Sejeong finally had the chance to greet her fans in Indonesia through her fan meeting 2022 Sejeong’s Sesang Diary in Jakarta on November 4, 2022. Indonesian Sesangs are especially lucky because Jakarta was the first overseas stop that Sejeong picked. With her great performances, acting, and personality, it was certainly a memorable night filled with beautiful memories for everyone.

Blessed by Her Beautiful Voice

One thing not to worry about Sejeong is how well she executes ballad songs with her vocal range and stage presence in every performances. Opening the fan meeting with a song that started her journey as a soloist, Flower Way, she entered the stage in her blue dress and hitting the high notes easily while singing the beautiful lyrics of the song. She also performed more of her ballad songs with Plant and Maybe I Am. What came as a surprise was when she performed a cover of Never Enough, a song from the movie The Greatest Showman in perfect pitch and articulation even though she said that she’s not good in English. Her talent came from long years of practice as she also shared that she went to karaoke to sing ballad songs as part of her practice.

Knowing the multitalented Sejeong, of course she didn’t ace only in one type of songs. She managed to make the audience sing along to brighter songs like Love, Maybe from Business Proposal OST and Baby I Love You from her 2021 EP single. More exciting performances can also be witnessed in her upbeat songs such as Whale and Skyline. During the Q&A section, she even teased that she will go for the hip-hop genre in her new album and asked the fans to patiently wait for it.

Cheered For Her Acting

Other than being well known for her amazing voice, Sejeong is also famous as an actress with great drama portfolios and several prestigious awards. Hence, the fan meeting created a segment to look back into her acting performances from four of her famous dramas.

Looking back into School 2017, she remembered the drama as a good place for her to grow her acting skill with other rookie and young actors. She reenacted the famous aegyo scene from the drama, even though it was hard for her since she is older now.

For The Uncanny Counter, it was a great chance for her to meet more experienced actors by learning from them. She shared that her character, Do Ha Na as the most similar to her real personality. She also hoped to get get the opportunity to be in action movies such as Marvel Cinematic Universe since she really enjoys such roles. Sesangs can also look forward to the second season of The Uncanny Counter as the filming is currently ongoing.

The famous rom-com drama Business Proposal also gave her an amazing experience since she got to work with talented co-stars and crews. She said that there were actually ad-libs in the drama that was created on the spot and it all went well thanks to the good cooperation between the team, especially her co-star Seorina. She also shyly talked about the romantic scene with actor Ahn Hyeo Seop that also came out well and received good responses from viewers.

Last but not least, she just recently finished the shooting for her latest drama Today’s Webtoon. The drama had a beautiful storyline of a judo athlete who had to give up on her dream after an injury and had to continue living with a new dream as a webtoon editor. She hoped that Sesangs could also learn from this drama that it is okay to switch your dreams and paths in this long-running life, just like how she originally wanted to be a singer but also found a new dream as an actress.

In Love With Her Personality

As the fan meeting brought us closer to Sejeong, we witnessed how warm and gentle her personality is. She was always eager to answer questions from fans. She shared deeper about the shooting process of Today’s Webtoon where Indonesian Sesangs sent her a food-truck that she could enjoy well with other cast members and crews. She shared about her recent visit to the USA and skydiving experience to recharge her energy before the new project. She also excitedly talked about her father who has been living in Indonesia who came to the show and cheered for her.

The night even became event more special as Indonesian actor, Chicco Jerrikho, who acted in a short web series project with her came as a special guest. Chicco talked about how warm Sejeong’s personality is and how she immediately killed any awkwardness between them to create a beautiful chemistry for the series. With that very reason, Chicco decided to support her fan meeting in Jakarta.

Indonesian Sesangs also created a special event for her with a short video compiling Sejeong’s journey from Produce 101, I.O.I, gugudan, drama shootings, musical performances, to her performances as a soloist. Sejeong immediately cried after seeing the video montage as it reminded her of the olden days that she missed dearly. She was especially touched when the video showed that out of all the beautiful things in this world, Sesangs love Sejeong the most. She said that she will cherish the video and would watch it every time she forgets to give love to herself.

After singing Let’s Go Home during encore, she told the audience that she wanted to see the faces of everyone in the crowd as she walked slowly while cutely waving goodbye.
