[INDONESIA] Kim Bum ‘Between U and Me’ Jakarta Press Conference

Actor Kim Bum, whom his fans refer to as a vampire because he never looks old, greeted the media at the VIU Scream Dates press conference for KIM BUM [Between U and Me] 2023 Asia Fan Meeting in Jakarta on Saturday, September 2, 2023, at Kempinski Hotel Grand Ballroom, Jakarta.

Shortly after Kim Bum entered the room wearing a gray suit and flashing a lovely smile, the press conference began. The MC immediately asked Kim Bum’s experience with Indonesian cuisine, to which he replied, “I really like Indonesian food, especially fried rice and fried noodles, but I haven’t had time to eat it yet, so maybe after today’s schedule I will eat it”.

As an actor who is known for being very selective in choosing roles, Kim Bum said that to fall in love with a role that is offered, he considers whether he can truly express himself in the character and if he can carry out the role. He did his research according to the roles, when he acted as a doctor in Ghost Doctor, he actually studied at the hospital with a surgeon and experienced the operation in person and learned just like the other students who studied surgery. For Tale of the Nine Tailed, he watched a lot of documentaries about foxes and their movements in order to properly convey the character.

According to his fans, Kim Bum’s face has not changed much since appearing on Boys Over Flowers in 2019, and fans wondered if he is a vampire, and he answered jokingly, “Yes, I am a vampire,” which was followed by laughter in the room. He then responded that there is no secret to his youthful appearance, and that he is just a grateful person. Even after years of working as an actor, nothing has changed as he still finds everything to be incredibly thrilling and enjoyable.

Kim Bum also shared that there are several preparations that we can only see at the fan meeting, as he will dance and perform a song. It is a special song that he keeps listening to while waiting to meet with Indonesian fans and finally after waiting for each other, he will be able to present it to the fans. “Hopefully all the love that I have received from fans can be returned, and tomorrow’s performance will be unforgettable for fans”, he added. He also teased us by saying that he will be working on a new project after he finishes his fan meeting tour and asked fans to wait for him.

When asked if there is any difference between Indonesian fans and other countries, he answered “Compared to other countries, Indonesian fans are very proactive and full of enthusiasm, and it makes me happy”. Before ending the press conference, Kim Bum thanked everyone and said “Even though the fan meeting is tomorrow, everyone already gave me a warm welcome. I received the energy and I will perform well tomorrow. I have missed you guys after waiting for a long time”.
