[INDONESIA] Indonesian Monbebe AND Moomoo Had A Blast Together At V HEARTBEAT

V HEARTBEAT presented by V LIVE, was successfully held in Jakarta last Saturday, 31 August 2019. Promoting the event with the theme “The Gateway to Asia”, V LIVE invited 3,000 lucky fans who registered for the event to watch performances from South Korean artists MONSTA X and MAMAMOO, Vietnamese artist Bich Phuong, and Indonesian artists RAN, Sheryl Sheinafia, Vidi Aldiano, and Afgan. The fans showed their high enthusiasm by queuing to trade their tickets since morning even though the concert started at 3.30 pm.

RAN warmed up the fans by singing their famous songs. With their easy-to-listen music and casual lyrics, many fans were hyped up and singing together. RAN sang three songs, “Kulakukan Semua Untukmu”, “Dekat Di Hati”, and their debut song “Pandangan Pertama”. During RAN’s performance, the concert venue magically turned into a karaoke hall.

The second performing artist was Sheryl Sheinafia. The talented young female singer showed up in neon colored outfit and made the crowd feel more energetic. With her unique voice, Sheryl sang her hit song “Sweet Talk” while dancing with her dancers. Sheryl ended her performance with a remake song called “Setia” which was originally sung by Indonesia late singer, Chrisye.

Following the hype, Vidi Aldiano came out singing a medley of hit songs in a capella. Accompanied by backing vocals, guitarists, and dancers, Vidi surprised the fans with his dance moves. He then gave fans yet another surprise by showing his rap skills when singing “Nuansa Bening” — a song that marked his debut and made him a top singer in Indonesia. That was not the end of his surprises! Sheryl Sheinafia appeared on stage again for a collaboration with Vidi. They showed their singing and dancing skills together through a song called “I Don’t Mind”. It was a fresh collaboration since not many Indonesian artists show their dance skills on stage.

Vietnamese artist Bich Phuong stepped onto the stage after Vidi finished his show. It was her first time performing in Indonesia but the crowd enjoyed her stage and cheered out loud for her despite the language barrier for Indonesian fans. The vibe felt different when Bich Phuong was on stage, accompanied by all female dancers and catchy disco music she performed her hits with sexy dance moves.

The last Indonesian artist to perform was Afgan. Afgan is known for his ballad songs, but at V HEARTBEAT, he presented his ballad songs in several remixes and danced to them. It was a different side of Afgan that the audiences do not usually see. In the middle of his stage, Afgan expressed his desire to collaborate with MONSTA X or MAMAMOO someday and the fans reacted happily. We also hope that it will happen soon!

The crowd become more excited when it was the time for MAMAMOO to perform. Solar, Moonbyul, and Hwasa showed up by singing “Gogobebe”. Despite only performing as three members, they gave the best performance and assured the fans that they are still the same MAMAMOO that fans know. The second song was their 2018 hit, “Egotistic”, a song with a sexy vibe. Indonesian Moomoos enjoyed the stage while waving their lightsticks and singing the fan-chant. The girls introduced themselves and tried speaking in Indonesian which made the fans more excited!

It was a great and unforgettable night for Moomoo, judging from the endless cheers and superb fan-service given by MAMAMOO. The girls charmed everyone with their great vocals and simple yet sexy dance moves in “Delcalcomanie”. They ended their performance with “Starry Night”. MAMAMOO proved once again that they are indeed great singers and performers. We are sure Indonesian Moomoo cannot wait for MAMAMOO to hold a concert in Indonesia!

MONSTA X – who are known for their powerful stage performances – served a dramatic opening. They opened up their set with “Alligator”. Monbebe all cheered loudly and sang the fan-chant together. Kihyun was not able to dance to to health reasons and performed while sitting on a chair on stage. It was a special moment for both MONSTA X and Indonesian Monbebe since it was MONSTA X’s first time in Jakarta after previously announced shows were cancelled.

Temperatures rose when MONSTA X performed their second song “Play It Cool”. With a synchronized choreography mixed with great music, vocal, and rap, Monbebe were sure fired up.

After that, MONSTA X introduced themselves. It was a funny moment since Hyungwon, Shownu, Kihyun, Minhyuk, Jooheon, and I.M said some Indonesian slang language like “Cemungudh ea” which means “fighting!” and the funniest one was “Kalian unyu unyu” which means “You are cute”.

The third song was “Rodeo”. During the song MONSTA X were spread around to see their fans closer from every angle of the stage. “Shoot Out” was the last song from MONSTA X which left fans wanting more.
Let’s hope that MONSTA X will hold a solo concert here in Indonesia to fulfill Indonesian Monbebes’ dreams after a long time.

After two hours of performances, V HEARTBEAT ended with all of artists together on stage to greet The artists also took a picture together with the fans. It surely was an incredible night especially for Monbebe and Moomoo! We hope that V HEARTBEAT will embody the theme “The Gateway to Asia” to become a real gateway for Indonesian fans to have high quality music concerts in the future with talented local artist and international artists. We’ll be waiting for the next event with more surprising lineups!
