[INDONESIA] Hwang Min Hyun Shares His Hidden Side to Indonesian Hwangdos at ‘UNVEIL’ Press Conference

The multi-talented singer and actor, Hwang Min Hyun greeted his fans, specifically called Hwangdo, at 2023 HWANG MIN HYUN MINI CONCERT <UNVEIL> IN JAKARTA which was held on August 19, 2023 at The Kasablanka Hall.

Immediately after the photo shoot, our captain, Hwang Min Hyun, greeted everyone with his sweet smile and spoke in Bahasa Indonesia: “Apa kabar? Saya Hwang Min Hyun”, which means “How are you? I’m Hwang Min Hyun”. The Q&A session with Min Hyun started after he sat next to the MC.

Since this is Min Hyun’s solo concert in Indonesia, the MC asked how he felt about it. He said he was a little nervous since he came alone this time, but he was fully aware of Hwangdo’s strong support, so he promised to give his best. Min Hyun then continued to share the story behind the name of his concert, ‘UNVEIL’. “The word ‘unveil’ has the English meaning of ‘to open something, to lift the veil’. So with this mini-concert, I hope to reveal something new to my fans,” Min Hyun explained. He also added that some of his performances during the concert later will have come from his brand new album that was released at the beginning of this year, Truth or Lie.

In addition to his work as a singer, Hwang Min Hyun is a multi-talented individual who also works as an actor. According to Min Hyun, he feels more like himself as a singer since he started off on that career path, but whenever he acts, he becomes someone different as he plays a new character. He also mentioned that during the filming of Alchemy of Souls, there was one area called Mungyeong where Korean culture was still well preserved, and he would recommend that as a place for fans to visit.

When asked whether he is still friends with cast members from other drama, Min Hyun answered, “The key is that the main characters are the same age, allowing us to bond more than just as coworkers and go out to lunch together.” His latest drama, My Lovely Liar, is currently gaining popularity, and Min Hyun explained a bit about his character. “Kim Doha is a composer who works in secret and avoids other people. All of it started to change after meeting this special woman, and he was able to resolve his issues,” he said.

He also shared that his fans, Hwangdo, are his inspiration. “Hwangdo give me strength. They make me strong just with their presence. When I dance, sing, and act in dramas, they watch me with such loving eyes, and I feel loved by that,” he added. Having celebrated his birthday recently, Min Hyun shared his wish with the audience. He said, “Many Hwangdo have sent me birthday greetings, which makes me very happy. I hope that we can have a meeting like this every August on my birthday.”

Hwang Min Hyun ended the press conference by saying goodbye in Bahasa Indonesia: “Aku cinta kalian. Terima kasih, sampai jumpa di konser nanti malam” which translates to “I love you guys. Thank you, see you at the concert tonight”.
