[INDONESIA] Hwang Min Hyun Mesmerizes Hwangdo During His First Solo Concert ‘UNVEIL’ in Jakarta

Hwang Min Hyun showed off his irresistible charm to Indonesian Hwangdo through the HWANG MIN HYUN MINI CONCERT <UNVEIL> IN JAKARTA on August 19, 2023 at The Kasablanka Hall!

Although it was his first solo concert in Jakarta, Hwang Min Hyun is no stranger to Indonesia, having visited the tropical country a few times with his bandmates before. The warm welcome from Indonesian Hwangdo was truly felt, and Hwang Min Hyun couldn’t help but deliver his best performances to the beloved fans.

The concert started at 6.30PM local time, not long after the former NU’EST vocalist finished the press conference and fan signing event. Showing up in a crisp white shirt and black suit, Hwang Min Hyun kicked off the show with the title track of his solo debut album, Hidden Side. After the eye-opening performance, Indra Herlambang, a famous host, joined the singer on stage. Hwang Min Hyun then gave a warm greeting to the crowd and introduced himself.

The ambience changed as Hwang Min Hyun continued the mini concert by performing Honest and Earphone. The use of a vibrant city view as the stage’s background made it feel like the fans were being serenaded on a romantic date night with Hwang Min Hyun.

To spice things up a little, the host came back on stage to invite Hwang Min Hyun to play the Unveil Timing Game. The key points of the game were dancing, singing, and acting. Being the multitalented artist he is, of course he could nail it all! But it wouldn’t have been fun if he could finish the game easily, so Hwang Min Hyun wrapped up the session with dance performances of Baekhyun‘s Betcha and NewJeans‘s Super Shy.

Knowing full well that the crowd couldn’t get enough of his beautiful voice, Hwang Min Hyun moved on to the next segment by performing some of his soundtrack singles. So Beautiful, the soundtrack of After School Lesson for Unripe Apples, was the first one to be sung. To bring back memories, Hwang Min Hyun also performed Tree from Alchemy of Souls, in which he played the character Seo Yul.

After an outfit change, Hwang Min Hyun came back with a denim sleeveless top and matching jeans. This time, the idol showcased his dancing skills from his 11-year career with performances of Perfect Type and Cube. The sight brought a series of screams from the crowd.

To show a little bit of his actor side, the host gave Hwang Min Hyun the role of a radio DJ to play that night. The radio DJ Min Hyun, listened to a listener’s story and sang a few songs, such as Back in Time, Snowman, and White Night. The segment was then closed by the most anticipated performance, Universe.

Near the end of the concert, a VCR from Indonesian Hwangdo played on stage, successfully surprising Hwang Min Hyun. Aside from expressing the love Indonesian Hwangdo have for Hwang Min Hyun, the three-minute video also showed a meaningful fan project they had done for the idol’s birthday that took place week prior.

The surprise hadn’t stopped there because a moment later, a beautiful pink cake was brought to the stage followed by a loud Happy Birthday sung by the audience. Hwang Min Hyun cutely danced along to the music and tried to hug the cake.

Sadly, the concert came to an end after Hwang Min Hyun performed Crossword and Smile as the last songs of the night. “Thank you for being my strength!” Hwang Min Hyun said to his beloved fans in Jakarta as a goodbye.

It was definitely a memorable night, and we are already looking forward to Hwang Min Hyun’s next visit to Indonesia!
