[INDONESIA] Get to Know ARrC at the ARrC X KARAFURU Media Conference

Clad in three sets of batik shirts, ARrC, a rising boy band from Mystic Story, showed up to answer questions from a number of Indonesian press at a media conference on August 21, 2025. The event was part of their promotion for collaboration with KARAFURU, a global pop-art NFT collection.

During this media conference, the seven members opened up about various topics—from their excitement connecting with Indonesian fans, to the secret to maintaining their synergy, even some TMIs that fans probably do not know yet.

While promoting in Jakarta, the members encountered many words and phrases in Bahasa Indonesia. Hyunmin, the leader of the group, shared that among all of the words and phrases that he had learned so far, ‘halo’ (hello), ‘selamat pagi’ (good morning), and ‘terima kasih’ (thank you) stuck with him the most. He personally used ‘terima kasih’ the most often, it automatically came out of him every time he went to new places, like a restaurant, for instance.

On the other hand, ‘aku cinta kamu’ (I love you) and ‘sampai jumpa lagi’ (see you again) lingered in Kien‘s mind a lot. He felt like he always wanted to say ‘aku cinta kamu’ (I love you) to Indonesian ARrCers, their beloved fans. To enrich their Bahasa Indonesia vocabulary, one of the press taught them to say ‘mantap,’ a slang word that means awesome.

When asked about a touching moment they encountered in Jakarta, Rioto told a story from their previous schedule. “We got a chance to hold a fan event, which is School Attack, at a school in Jakarta. There is a dance team there who covered our song—Awesome. I felt very touched while watching the performance.”

In July 2025, it was announced that ARrC would be collaborating with KARAFURU, which combines the group’s fun music and KARAFURU’s bright colors. Hope is the main theme for this collaboration, aligning with the group’s newly released album. Doha expressed that through this collaboration, ARrC could show more of their color to the world. The group wanted to give their fans hope and build more connections in the future.

Speaking of connection, the name ARrC is an abbreviation of Always Remember the Real Connection. Upon being asked what kind of connection the group wanted to have with their fans, Hyunmin said that he wanted it to be beyond space and time. More than just giving their music for the fans to love, he also wanted to give hope to all of their listeners. “We hope our listeners can give hope to other people as well.”

When it comes to maintaining connections within the group, the leader revealed that ARrC members usually talk a lot with each other. They hold meetings from time to time to sort out any misunderstandings that occurred between them. He emphasized the importance of communication to clear up problems in the group.

Although ARrC members came from different countries, they admitted that they did not experience any culture shock among them. Choi Han said that instead of culture shock, there are times when they were confused with each other’s pronunciation of some words.

Andy then shared his personal culture shock moment upon arriving in South Korea. “I was born and raised in America, so I’m used to the foods. When I first came to (South) Korea, there were many different kinds of pizza. I tried sweet potato pizza for the first time. Pizza for me is usually salty, but for the first time, I had a pizza that was sweet. So that was a cultural difference.”

The group released their latest EP titled Hope on July 16, 2025, with the title track Awesome. When asked about any unexpected moments while preparing the comeback, Choi Han revealed that the site for the Awesome music video was dark and somewhat scary. Some of the ARrC members were scaredy-cats, so they had to stick together everywhere they went throughout the filming.

Being newcomers in the K-Pop industry, the group has learned a lot from their senior groups. Rioto confessed that ENHYPEN is one of many groups that he personally respects. He found ENHYPEN great in singing and always showing diverse performances, thus he always learns from them. Andy also added that for him, it is CRAVITY. During their recent encounter, Allen specifically gave ARrC a lot of feedback and tips while also informing them about idol life.

The media conference concluded as ARrC said their final “Terima kasih!” (thank you) politely.

We would like to thank Synergy Entertainment for inviting us to the media conference!
