[INDONESIA] Electrifying Night with Taemin at ‘Ephemeral Gaze’ in Jakarta

Taemin‘s solo concert, Ephemeral Gaze in Jakarta has been a long time coming as it has been years since his last visit to Indonesia. Sure enough, the acclaimed SHINee member and soloist brought his A-game to the show, indulging fans with a night of magical music, dance, and performances!

From the moment the lights dimmed and the first notes resonated through the arena, it was clear that this was no ordinary concert. The show started with the mystifying Deja Vu, followed by his other tracks such as Guilty, Advice, and the Korean version of his Japanese debut, Sayonara Hitori. Through this array of songs, Taemin managed to showcase his ethereal stage presence and unparalleled dance skills.

After greeting the crowd, Taemin explained the meaning behind the concert’s name, Ephemeral Gaze. He shared that the phrase represents a fleeting gaze, a reminder that the way we view people and things depends on our perspective. Through this tour and his performances, he hopes to convey the beauty and complexity of these ever-changing perceptions.

Following his ment, he performed several other songs, such as IDEA, which had an intense, edgy vibe with powerful beats and bold choreography, and Heaven, which exuded a softer, dreamy vibe. We truly felt the electrifying buzz in the audience as Taemin performed these tracks!

Taemin is known for his ability to redefine masculinity, blending sharp movements with more fluid and sensual motions. This was clearly portrayed in the next section of the show where he performed songs like MOVE with its hypnotic and sultry vibes, and WANT, which intensifies the alluring and mysterious atmosphere. Despite all these, Taemin also has a cute and charming vibe to him! We witnessed him being sheepish as the audience chanted ‘KIYOWO! KIYOWO‘ (cute in Korean) to him.

Of course, no concert is complete without fans giving their energy back to the artist through a dedicated fan project. For Ephemeral Gaze in Jakarta, TAEMates (fandom name) prepared a special video for Taemin. The video showcased fans from all over the country from all walks of life who were united by their love for Taemin. The moment was heartwarming for both Taemin and TAEMates!

Though everyone had a lot of fun, unfortunately, the night must come to an end. Say Less from his latest EP, ETERNAL made the perfect closing for a perfect night with its smooth groove. Throughout the show, Taemin also promised TAEMates that he will come back to Jakarta and asked the fans to promise him that they would all come to upcoming concerts in the future.
