[INDONESIA] Cute Sunday Rendezvous With (G)I-DLE At Rexona GLOWFORIT Fest

One of the hottest 4th generation girl groups from CUBE Entertainment, (G)I-DLE, finally made their way back to Jakarta for Rexona #GLOWFORIT Fest. The event took place on June 9, 2024, at ICE BSD City Hall 3A. This marks the girls’ first visit to the city after their attendance at Head in the Clouds Jakarta in December 2022.

TOMBOY: Neverland National Anthem

Cladded in pink and white attire, Miyeon, Minnie, Soyeon, Yuqi, and Shuhua looked dazzling as they showed up on the stage. The girls performed their mega-hit song, Queencard, as the opening song. Screams from fanboys and fangirls were heard as soon as the music filled up the arena; they all felt excited to finally see the iconic song and choreo performed live.

After an energetic opening, (G)I-DLE switched up the mood and mesmerized Indonesian Neverlands with their sweet vocals as they sung Fate. Lastly, the girls showed their bada$$ sides with a performance of TOMBOY. As expected, the venue walls vibrated with excitement as everyone sang along, proving that it is indeed the fandom’s favourite.

Indonesian Neverlands Ask, (G)I-DLE Answers

During the Q&A session, each (G)I-DLE member was asked a question from a lucky fan. The session kicked off with a question for maknae Shuhua. When asked which superpower she would choose if she could have any, Shuhua shared that she would like to have the ability to talk to animals since she loved them. She also mentioned that she is a dog person!

When it was Miyeon’s turn, she was asked if she knew what “pretty” is in Bahasa Indonesia. She admitted that she did not know and asked Indonesian Neverlands to teach her. After receiving enough lessons, Miyeon proudly said, “Aku cantik” (I am pretty). The crowd cheered as everyone agreed that Miyeon is indeed pretty!

Soyeon, on the other hand, received a question about her favourite food. She revealed that she loves to cook beef. The MC then asked the other members about Soyeon’s cooking, to which received a series of chuckles as it had been so long since Soyeon had cooked for them. Nevertheless, the members agreed that Soyeon’s cooking is delicious.

Es Cendol and Kue Ape

Following the powerful performances and fun Q&A session, the MC surprised (G)I-DLE members by bringing two tables full of traditional Indonesian food and drinks. He hoped they would help (G)I-DLE get to know Indonesia better since they have visited the country multiple times. From kue lapis and sate to bika ambon, the girls gladly tried each one while the emcee introduced the food to them.

Minnie was the most curious to know the names of the dishes that she munched on. She said she recognised es cendol (a coconut milk drink with green rice flour jelly and palm sugar toppings) after tasting it. She then made several attempts to pronounce the name correctly.

On the other hand, Yuqi seemed to misunderstand the meaning of kue ape. She thought the word “ape” meant delicious in Bahasa Indonesia, which is why she called every dish she encountered “ape“. This brought lots of laughter from the audience because in fact, ape is a green pancake made from rice flour.

After a short hour passed, it was finally time for (G)I-DLE to say goodbye. Before the girls exited the stage, they expressed their happiness at being able to spend time with Indonesian Neverlands.

It was such a memorable day, and we can not wait to welcome (G)I-DLE again in Indonesia! Thank you Rexona Indonesia for inviting us!
