[INDONESIA] CRUSH Gives A Spectacular Last Show in Jakarta’s ‘CRUSH HOUR’

Fans beat the post-work rush hour to experience CRUSH perform live at The Kasablanka Hall on August 8, 2023 for ‘CRUSH HOUR’ in Jakarta!

Spectacle and Serenade

From the very first note, the crowd’s screams became deafening as CRUSH appeared to perform Rush Hour for the opening. He motioned for everyone to get to their feet, setting the lively tone for the rest of the concert without wavering.

The concert continued with a steady stream of high-energy songs for the first set, starting off with Hey Baby, Ibiza, and NAPPA. They were accompanied with even higher-octane special effects (confetti, strobing lights, and engaging VCRs) and steady interactions that made the night feel worth the wait and every penny spent.

Indonesian as His Second Language

In anticipation for his last show of the ‘CRUSH HOUR’ tour, CRUSH had prepared a lot of local phrases to show fans, such as “mantap”, which is a slang word for “cool”. During his first ment, he spoke for extended sentences in Indonesian as his introduction. He mentioned that he was extremely excited to be meeting the fans and repeated “senang ketemu kalian” to show how happy he really was to meet everyone.

As it was the very last concert of his Asia tour, CRUSH was determined to make this one a memorable one. He even went as far as changing the lyrics of his song Ibiza with Jakarta, much to the delight of the crowd.

Throughout the night he peppered in his prepared phrases in between sets to engage with the audience. CRUSH politely built up expectations by asking them “kalian siap?” (“are you ready?”) before performing Crush On You, Butterfly, Don’t Be Shy, and She Said—a set the fans had been looking forward to all night.

The Many Different Ways to Say ‘I Love You’

Throughout the night, Crushbomb enthusiastically expressed their love verbally and physically. From the moment the lights dimmed until the very end of the concert, the fans screamed at the top of their lungs in all the different languages (“saranghae oppa”, “aku cinta kamu”, and “I love you”) for their idol to hear them. These attempts didn’t go unnoticed as the fans would watch as a blushing CRUSH threw hearts and returned similar sentiments their way. It was obvious CRUSH felt the love as he only became more enthusiastic as the concert was nearing its end, screaming for the crowd to get to their feet and sing along with him. He even revealed his plans for an upcoming album, which had the fans cheering loudly in anticipation.

There was a noticeable lull in the crowd when CRUSH performed his more sentimental songs, such as Let Us Go, Beautiful, and SOFA. That didn’t mean Crushbomb were any less engaged, though. They raised their phones up with flashlights lit and banners raised when he sang Don’t Forget as the second to last song of the night—a silent declaration of love for their idol.

The night ended when CRUSH performed Outside, urging everyone to get on their feet again and jump to their heart’s content as he did on stage. With confetti raining down on everyone and the lights flashing at peak brightness, the fans sang at the top of their lungs along to the lyrics. Despite it being the last song, there was not even a single sad face in sight. It was safe to say that everyone went home with a warm heart, sore throat, and memories that would last for a long, long time.
