A lively K-Pop festival with performances from ATEEZ, MADDOX, Weeekly, VICTON, KARD, and MONSTA X Kihyun was held at Baseball Stadium GBK Senayan on September 16, 2022. Despite the pour, the excitement from K-Pop fans coming together from different fandoms was at an all-time high. Here is a little preview of the fun-filled night!
A Strong Opening By ATEEZ
The energetic boys of ATEEZ kicked off their set in full passion with Guerilla as the opening song. After introducing themselves, ATEEZ reminisced their previous encounter with Indonesian ATINYs. They were grateful for the fans who have patiently waited for their return and cheered very loudly during the performances.
Continuing the party with Say My Name, an exclusive medley of Good Lil Boy, The Leaders, and To The Beat, THANXX, and Fireworks (I’m The One), ATEEZ brought more excitement as they ran around the stage and gave astounding performances that ATINYs have been longing to see. The fun went on as Hongjoong, Seonghwa, Yunho, Yeosang, San, Mingi, Wooyoung, and Jongho presented their cheerful songs, WAVE and Eternal Sunshine while interacting cutely among themselves and lucky fans.
Closing the stage with The Real (ë©‹), ATINYs witnessed the legendary dance break by Yunho and Mingi while the other members cheered for them. Seeing the enthusiasm from Indonesian ATINYs, the boys made a promise to return to the city with their own concert in the future!
Beautiful Vocals By MADDOX
Soloist MADDOX came on stage next and performed his self-written songs, Sleep and Lamp. He talked about behind-the-scenes process of writing Lamp, a song he hoped to be a guiding lamp, providing light that fans can rely on whenever they needed it. He also took a sunflower from his fans (DDs) onto stage, from their support project.
He continued to bless the crowd with his sweet voice with a cover of Adele – Easy on Me and IU – Through The Night. Fans cannot help but to sing along as they continuously showed their support. MADDOX shared he is thankful for the audience and really enjoyed the atmosphere of the festival that night!
The Charm Of Weeekly
Bringing more sweetness onto the stage, Weeekly entered the set with two songs from their debut mini album, Hello and Tag Me. They hypnotised the audience with their charms and energetic dance moves that came from meeting Indonesian Daileees for the first time.
Presenting a beautiful serenade with Memories of Summer Rain, Weeekly then performed Check It Out and Holiday Party from their 2021 mini album. Lee Soojin, Monday, Park Soeun, Lee Jaehee, Jihan, and Zoa ended their set with a performance of their hit song, After School which united K-pop fans that night as they sang along to the exciting song!
The Enchanting Persona Of VICTON
VICTON continued the party in classic white shirts and jeans performing their 2022 single, Chronograph. They greeted Indonesian ALICEs for the very first time and talked about how excited they were to be here. An enchanting performance of Stay and Circle continued to please the audience, followed by VICTON’s interaction with fans during their slow jam to The Chemistry.
Moving on to Time of Sorrow, VICTON successfully presented another exquisite performance followed by loud fan chants from ALICEs. Seungsik, Chan, Sejun, Hanse, Byungchan, and Subin continued the excitement with Because of You as their final song for the night!
Energetic Stage By KARD
Hyping up the crowd, KARD started off their segment with Ring The Alarm! They also performed some of their classic hits such as Oh NaNa, Don’t Recall, and Hola Hola that turned up the heat of the event.
KARD talked about how they could see fans gathered at the venue from their hotel room since early morning and the rising energy and enthusiasm from everyone. BM shared how it was already four years since their last visit to Jakarta and he always missed the energy and loud cheers from Indonesian fans. They also asked for food recommendations during their stay and fans recommended Seblak, a savoury and spicy dish that originally came from Bandung.
KARD continued rocking out on stage with Bomb Bomb and Dumb Litty, and also provided a little spoiler for Hidden KARDs that they are currently preparing for a tour in Asia next year!
King of Performances, MONSTA X Kihyun
As they say, we save the best for the last! Kihyun opened up his stage with debut single VOYAGER. He then proceeded to share about how he almost did not make it to the show as his plane was delayed. However, after overcoming some obstacles, he finally made it to his first overseas schedule as a soloist!
Knowing how much Indonesian MONBEBEs have been missing MONSTA X, Kihyun continued to nail his performances of One Day and Someone’s Someone, two songs that he originally sang with MONSTA X members. Despite not having the time to do a rehearsal, Kihyun executed it well with his stable voice and strong energy that wow-ed the audience! Ending the night with Rain, Kihyun perfectly concluded the festival and promised to return soon to Jakarta with the other members.
It was definitely a memorable night where fans from different fandoms with the same love for music gathered and celebrated their enthusiasm for K-Pop! We would like to thank Boart Indonesia for extending us an invitation to experience the event. 🙂
