Prior to their first-ever concert in Indonesia, GOT7 held a press conference to greet the local medias. In various styles of black and white suits, Mark, JB, Jackson, Jinyoung, Youngjae, BamBam, and Yugeyom looked dapper and all smiles as they entered the room.
Since it was their third time in Indonesia, the emcee started the press conference by asking how did the boys feel about being back. Excitedly, they said they were very glad to be here again and they planned to show it by preparing even cooler stages for Indonesian IGOT7s. The weather might be hot in Indonesia, but GOT7 were more than prepared to heat up the night with their burning passion!
Considering Jakarta is the only part of Indonesia that they’ve ever been to, the encee conveyed fans’ curiosity by asking whether there are other areas they’d like to visit. In response, Jackson jokingly asked, “Even if we have one, will we be able to go?” eliciting laughter from everyone in the room. Eventually, they revealed that Bali is the place that has piqued their curiosity. Because Bali has a famous staircase like paddy fields, known as “terasering” in Bahasa Indonesia, that they’d like to take a walk at.
They continued showing their excitement about Indonesia by sharing their favourite Indonesian food. Fried rice was universally chosen as their hot pick, followed by fried noodle. Mark, however, was in love with Indonesian satay and peanut sauce while Jackson is in love with a local chocolate milk brand. He sadly forgot the name of it, but we’re sure Indonesian IGOT7s will do their best to find out!
They also admitted that being able to travel around and meet fans in person is one of the best parts of being an idol. Even Jinyoung confessed that he’d never thought there will come a time where they’d be able to go to Europe and then straight to Indonesia for a concert. It felt like something out of his dream, and that made him very happy. Much to everyone’s amusement, Jinyoung also said travelling around the world makes him happy because, “Now I have a lot of flying mileages. Though maybe I shouldn’t have said that.”
The press conference then continued with the boys creating acrostic poems using the word “GOT SEVEN.” Jackson was skeptical at first, asking whether or not everyone will understand if he used Korean. After the translator convinced him that it was okay, though, he quickly agreed and they all went into an emergency meeting about who will represent the team. Mark eventually was picked to start, and he took the easy way out by starting with, “GOT7.” Jackson quickly followed up by saying, “In this new year,” in Korean. Yugyeom then urgently was picked to conclude the poem with, “Will explode in the future!” in Korean, earning loud applause by everyone present.
When it comes to fans and music, however, they weren’t playing around as their future goal is to show an even cooler side of GOT7 by communicating with fans through their music. All this time, they have tried and shown various types of music but one thing that connected everything was how they complement each other to show the best to fans. That’s why rather than having a set goal, they prefer to continue pursuing a musical growth with all their heart. Because who knows what’s the limit of their potential?
Their short term goal, though, was clear. They hoped the concert in Jakarta will go well, the tour will be finished successfully, and they all could learn about the different cultures from all the countries they will be visiting. As what leader JB said, “Wait for tonight’s concert!”
