[INDONESIA] A Truly ‘Special Night’ at WINNER ‘CROSS’ Tour in Jakarta

Hot on the heels of their latest mini album ‘CROSS’, the four boys of WINNER fulfilled their promise last year and return to Jakarta for another solo concert. We were blessed to catch their stunning stages on 21 December 2019 at Tennis Indoor Senayan. So let’s stroll down memory lane and relive that night with this concert recap!

‘Real Winner’ Sound with Live Band

Yes, ladies and gentleman. This time around, WINNER come to Jakarta with a live band in tow. And let me tell you, the resulting sound was g-l-o-r-i-o-u-s.

Right after the opening VCR ended, the band played the opening notes of ‘EVERYDAY’ and WINNER came on stage to Indonesian Inner Circles‘ loud screams. A succession of their bangers follow, and the crowd was truly hyped up through ‘LOVE ME LOVE ME’, ‘ISLAND’, and of course, ‘REALLY REALLY’.

But the real treats came after they performed ‘MOLA’ and ‘DRESS UP’. Seungyoon addressed the fans, saying that ‘With this greatest band, we’ve come up with a special stage for you to enjoy WINNER’s emotional music.’

What followed was an angelic medley of ‘DIFFERENT’, ‘HAVE A GOOD DAY’, and ‘RAINING’. Thanks to the live band, the transition between those three songs were really smooth and the arrangement really allowed WINNER’s emotional vocals to shine through. The bittersweet feelings from those songs were conveyed so beautifully, that it wouldn’t be a surprise if some Inner Circles shed tears during the medley (because we sure did)!

Contagious Energy on Every Stage

Whether it’s a dance song like ‘OMG’, cute song like ‘DON’T BE SHY’, and semi-ballad like ‘EMPTY’ ‘SO SO’, and ‘MOVIE STAR’, WINNER always knew how to make Inner Circles sing and dance to their songs. Even when they’re on their own, the four boys were able to command the stage.

Seunghoon turned up the heat with his solo songs ‘FLAMENCO’ and ‘SERENADE’, while Jinwoo stole every hearts around with his cute ‘CALL ANYTIME’. Seungyoon rocked the stage with ‘INSTINCTIVELY’ and ‘WIND’, while Mino turned the hall into a club through a medley of ‘I’m Him’, ‘TRIGGER’, and ‘FIANCE’.

But of course, WINNER shined brightest when they’re together as four. Their energy were off the charts, and the concert hall became a dance hall because under WINNER’s command, every Inner Circles danced through ‘MILLIONS’, ‘AH YEAH’, ‘IMMATURE’, and ‘LA LA’.

Unforgettable Moments of Love

Much to Inner Circles’ delight, WINNER did not hesitate to take breaks between songs and conversed with fans. Seunghoon took the cake with his dedication to learn Bahasa Indonesia. From ‘Supaya bersemangat, aku ingin dengar suara kalian!’ (To get more energy, I want to hear you scream) to ‘Aku terbang jauh dari Korea hanya untuk bertemu Inner Circle Jakarta. Apa sekarang stres kalian sudah hilang? Momen ini tidak akan pernah aku lupakan!’ (I flew all the way from Korea just to meet Jakarta’s Inner Circles. Is your stress gone now? I will never forget this moment!)

Jinwoo was a bit shy, but he kept telling Inner Circles that he loved them and he wanted the fans to take care of themselves. Mino was blown away by Inner Circle’s big energy and endless love. Seungyoon reminisced about his favorite memory from their arrival at Jakarta’s airport, when all Inner Circles sat down and made way for them instead of rushing to greet them. 

‘You’ve made a youth movie with us, and the title is WINNER’, Seungyoon concluded his grateful feelings after they returned for encore with ‘HELLO’ and ‘ZOO’. However,  it would be such a shame to end the concert just like that, and as such, the four boys extended their encore stage with crowd favorites ‘REALLY REALLY’, ‘LA LA’, and ‘EVERYDAY’.

Just like the boys said, it was the best day of their lives and ours! We are grateful to be able to witness this beautiful moment that showed just how much WINNER and Inner Circles love each other. Not to mention enjoying all the amazing ways WINNER rocked the stage with their musical prowess.
