[INDONESIA] A Heartfelt Letter from Paul Kim: ‘Sincerely Yours’ Live in Jakarta

Singer-songwriter Paul Kim returned to Indonesia for his first-ever solo concert in the country, <Sincerely Yours> Live in Jakarta. The event took place on April 19, 2025 at Ciputra Artpreneur Theater. This concert held even greater meaning, as it was specially arranged to commemorate the 10th anniversary of his debut, and became a space for an intimate and emotional look back on the cherished memories with fans and the milestones he has achieved throughout the years as an artist.

The concert began with one of Paul Kim’s most beloved OSTs, So Long, from Hotel Del Luna. He then continued with a heartfelt performance of Letter, a song that conveys the bittersweet feeling of longing—an emotion that resonated deeply with Indonesian Paul In Love (fandom name), who hadn’t seen him since his last visit for KOREA 360 2nd Anniversary <2GETHER> last December. This sentiment was immediately reflected through the crowd’s enthusiastic cheers, leaving Paul Kim in awe. The singer, unable to hide his astonishment, asked fans to cheer one more time, and the request was gladly fulfilled by everyone.

Although this was Paul Kim’s first solo show in Indonesia, Jakarta was also the last stop of his entire <Sincerely Yours> tour. This made the concert even more special for both Paul Kim and Paul in Love in attendance. In addition to the tour, Paul Kim recently released an album of the same name to celebrate his debut anniversary, which also served as the primary setlist for the tour. The album features not only new songs but also re-recorded versions of his classic favorites.  Notably, he added the word “Yours” to the end of each title as a heartfelt gesture, dedicating the songs to his fans in appreciation of their unwavering love and support.

Following the catch-up session, Paul Kim continued the show by performing Can’t Get Over You, Not Fine, and Traffic Light. Before moving to the next song, he asked fans whether they wanted to hear more of his OSTs or more B-side tracks from his album. The crowd answered “Both” in unison. Pleased with the answer, Paul Kim delivered a solo rendition of the easy-listening track, HANGANG, and invited the audience to sing along. Just before starting, he playfully chanted “Gas gas gas!” (Go go go!), a popular Indonesian phrase he had recently learned. The fun did not stop there, as he then invited the audience to enjoy a cup of coffee with him through his performance of Coffee With Me.

As the concert went on, Paul Kim was pleasantly surprised to discover that the crowd knew more of his songs than he had expected. “Mantul,” he exclaimed in amazement, cheekily using the local slang to express his delight. He then shared a funny story about craving Krispy Kreme doughnuts after seeing the staff eating them just before his rehearsal began. Since sweets could cause phlegm and interfere with his singing, he promised the lucky fans who attended the rehearsal that he would not eat any. Still, as the rehearsal ended, he could not stop thinking about the doughnuts—especially the original flavor. In return, he announced that he would perform the next song, After Summer, while thinking about them, causing the audience to burst into laughter.

After performing Rain, Paul Kim quickly noticed that it was a fan favorite. He shared that while all his songs are special to him, Rain is particularly meaningful. When the song was first released, it did not receive much attention from the general public in South Korea. But by a stroke of luck, it became a CF song, which led to an invitation for Paul Kim to perform it live at a festival for the first time. Thanks to that opportunity, his other songs gained more recognition, and now, he is able to perform on stage in front of fans all around the world.

The moment everyone had been waiting for arrived with Me After You, a song that never fails to touch the hearts of many. As the concert reached its climax, it was also a sign that the ending was near. However, by popular demand, Paul Kim surprised the audience with a snippet of Hey, a beloved OST from the web drama Love Playlist. Although it was not part of the original setlist, Paul Kim promised to bring the song along when he returns next time. He then closed the night with another fan favorite, Every Day, Every Moment, and once again expressed his heartfelt gratitude to everyone in attendance, sharing that he was truly happy throughout the entire concert.
