OnlyOneOf has been said to have made a certain kind of impact on the K-Pop industry when the group made a comeback with their latest title track libido. While sensual dance choreography and performances are not all that hard to find in K-Pop, fans were attracted to the storyline implied in the music video, and the compelling choreography. Ever since their debut, OnlyOneOf has been consistent in continuing the flow of storytelling through their music videos. The Talented Members

OnlyOneOf consists of seven members — KB, Love, Rie, Yoojung, Junji, Mill and Nine. The group was created in 2019 by RSVP and 8D Creative. 

KB, who was born in 1992, is the eldest member of the group. He is the group’s lead rapper, vocalist and visual. Having already completed his military service, it is certainly a relief to fans who may worry about him having to take a two-year hiatus in the future!

Love is the group’s leader and main vocalist. A fun fact is that he has made an appearance in LOONA ViVi’s Everyday I Love You music video! 

Rie is known as OnlyOneOf’s lead vocalist and lead dancer. He is usually the one to take the lead when it comes to choreographing dance moves for the group. 

Yoojung is the main dancer, vocalist and visual of the group. His androgynous features — combined with the sleek way he moves — captures the eyes of anyone watching an OnlyOneOf video. 

Junji is OnlyOneOf’s lead vocalist and dancer. At first, he had everyone boggled with his long hair and the way his long bangs covered his eyes at first. However, it seems that the appearance only magnified the aura of mystery around him. It only serves to rile the fans more when he gradually reveals his eyes more and more over time!

Mill is the group’s main rapper and vocalist. He is athletic  and knows that he is good at various kinds of sports. A fun fact is that he looks up to boy groups like GOT7, WINNER and iKON!

Nine is the vocalist and youngest member of the group. As the resident maknae, it is not a surprise to know that he is also the mood-maker in OnlyOneOf!

sage

sage is the title track of the group’s second mini album, Line Sun Goodness. The official music video has garnered more than 12 million views to date. Composed by Candace Sosa — the genius behind BTS’ Euphoria, Love Myself and Mikrokosmos — the song is said to project a “dynamic atmosphere musically”.

It is catchy and sensual at the same time, and watching the performance is a different experience entirely compared to only listening to the song itself. The “dynamic atmosphere” can be heard throughout the song, as listeners get to immerse themselves into the wave of music from the moment it starts. 

dOra maar

dOra maar was released in early 2020, and promoted on music shows without an official music video. Dora Maar was one of Picasso’s muses. In the song, OnlyOneOf is said to be singing of “farce and the tragedy of love”.

It is sensual and has a steady beat; which makes for a perfect song for when listeners are wanting to listen to something more chill and relaxing yet not boring. OnlyOneOf is known for the warped melodies in their songs, and dOra maar is no different. The combination of the music and harmonies of the group members’ vocals definitely plays a big role in everything!

Angel

Angel was produced by GRAY — a fact which attracted listeners to the song in the first place. It is a much more catchy and joyful song, compared to the group’s previous ones which are known to be more sensual and mysterious.

a sOng Of ice & fire

Produced by GroovyRoom — the popular duo known for producing and composing music — a sOng Of ice & fire “borrows the fantastical perspective of George R. R. Martin”. The track is said to imply that “love is like a fantasy that takes place in a virtual space where one season repeats itself for years”.

The song itself has a mythical feel; bringing listeners to a different dimension entirely from the moment the song starts. It is not a song with heavy beats and is perfect especially for warming up before an exercise, or for cooling down after a workout!

However, the list of songs to listen to doesn’t stop here. There are also other amazing tracks like bOss, time leap and Heartbreak Theatre which make for great listens while having a mug of warm drink at a cafe!

Mind-blowing Dance Covers 

OnlyOneOf’s dance cover videos do get uploaded on the official YouTube channel from time to time, which is another way for fans to find out about the group’s existence. The flawless dance choreography, combined with the immensely professional camera work made it such that viewers are unable to take their eyes off everyone in the videos.

MALAMENTE by ROSALÍA 

Having garnered the most views out of the group’s dance covers at 13 million views, there is no doubt that most lyOns (OnlyOneOf official fandom name) went through a rite of initiation by watching this particular video. It is said that the symbols and metaphors in the song have influenced the making of their other songs savanna and sage. OnlyOneOf showed precise dance moves, and it is satisfying to see how in sync they are most of the time, if not all.

Don’t Start Now by Dua Lipa

When Dua Lipa’s Don’t Start Now was at the peak of its popularity, OnlyOneOf uploaded their own dance cover of the song on their official YouTube channel. It has garnered more than 7 million views to date. Viewers were taken by the sassy expressions and moves showcased by the members, which go all too well with the song!

Savage by Megan Thee Stallion and Beyoncé

The particular dance cover for Savage was choreographed by Lim Shin Gyu, who was also the person behind the camera work for the video! As sleek as the dance moves are, credit should also be given to the cameraman for the appropriate transitions and magnificent camera work throughout the entire video!

Having been in the industry for two years, OnlyOneOf has always been described by fans as being underrated. However — it is only the beginning — and more people are beginning to recognise the sheer talent and boundless creativity of the group as time passes.
