Aside from their diverse discography that oozes with different musical flavours, THE BOYZ are known for their ever hilarious wit and punchlines that never fail to get a roar of laughter from its viewers. This is why comedic videos filled with memorable moments from this 11-member group seem to be endless.
Ever since their debut in December 2017, the group never stopped working hard to provide quality content for their The Bs (official fan club name) to feast on.
But if you’re a new The B, you might get lost in the vast mountains filled with the fruits of THE BOYZ’s variety monarch. Do not fret as we’ve listed down seven pieces of content that will keep you engaged just in time for their Thrill-ing comeback.
1. Flower Snack
THE BOYZ’s variety show prowess started even before their debut. Premiered on August 23, 2017, the then-trainees of Cre.ker Entertainment were given the task to run their own snack shop by themselves. Not only did they cook and serve the meals by themselves, but they also had to go through the process of getting business and health permits for the shop. Aside from their unity, several characteristics of the members were also highlighted like New’s ability to lead the flow of the group despite unforeseen circumstances and Haknyeon’s charm when it comes to customer service.
What to look forward to? The food! Not only for the stomach but for the ears as well as this show contains some of THE BOYZ’s most iconic song covers. Catch the members’ fanboying moments over other artists like Sam Kim and Narsha as they paid the shop a visit.
2. Come On! THE BOYZ Summer Vacation RPG
Refreshing and spontaneous are just two words to describe Come On! THE BOYZ Summer Vacation RPG. In exchange for a memorable getaway, the members have to work hard and do everything by themselves. With their adorable antics and humorous actions, no wonder this is one of The Bs’ favorite shows. It wasn’t all jokes and laughter though. Heartwarming moments like Sangyeon’s small but sweet sacrifice for Younghoon’s seaweed soup and Kevin’s sentiments about missing his parents were highlighted throughout the series.
What to look forward to? Lots of screaming. From Sunwoo’s hunted house dilemma, Younghoon’s orange game competitiveness, and Q’s cute English skills, this show is definitely the source of a number of THE BOYZ’s most iconic moments.
3. Road To Kingdom
Road To Kingdom may be stressful to some because of its competitive aspect, but it gave THE BOYZ a chance to showcase their creativity and passion when performing. We hope you’re ready to experience goosebumps all over as the constant improvement of the members’ skills and mindset as the competition goes on is commendable. THE BOYZ weren’t the only ones who surprised everyone with their talent, but groups like PENTAGON, Golden Child, VERIVERY, ONF, ONEUS, and TO1 (formerly known as TOO) left a long-lasting impression on those who watched the show, not only with their splendid stages but as well as their professionalism and friendship through the course of the competition.
As Sunwoo said, “Whether or not we won, this is something I really wanted to say to all the teams here & to ourselves… Rather than [the ranks] deciding our value, I think that it’s decided when we perform for the people we love.”
What to look forward to? THAT Danger cover, THAT Reveal performance, THAT Heroine collaboration, and THAT Shangri-La rendition. When you know what we mean, what will you say? Checkmate.
4. DOLYmpiad
DOLYmpiad is the perfect content to see THE BOYZ be competitive while having fun. In this show, some of the content you’ll see are the members guessing other artists’ lyrics, making a choreography relay to a trot song, and testing their teamwork with various games. This may not have as many episodes as the other shows, but the moments are gold, nonetheless. It’s THE BOYZ after all.
What to look forward to? Just a fun chill time with THE BOYZ which involves lots of laughter and screaming, as usual.
5. Come On! THE BOYZ in NY
Another Come On! content is this one set in New York City. While the members were given the freedom to roam around and do whatever they want, but there’s a catch: They need to have only $1206 worth of total expenses. As the group is split into teams or pairs, The Bs can learn what “a good time” means for the members. Some chose food or a day in the park, while others splurged and jet-skied to the waters surrounding the Statue of Liberty. Either way, it was nice to see the members wander around and discover new things together. Spoiler: they went over budget.
What to look forward to? As a huge Marvel fan, just like what a fan would to for their idol, Hyunjae wrote an adorable letter to Iron Man himself and even read it in front of him with a nice hug to top it all.
6. Are You Hungry? / For the Lazy but Hungry
This may not be one of the first content that new The Bs will watch, but if you’re a foodie, you’ve hit the jackpot. As the title suggests, THE BOYZ tried out different methods and food combinations to see which one actually works and is worth a try at home. Which jam suits white bread the most? Is there any ramyeon that tastes good when dipped into its liquid seasoning? Can a waffle maker transform a snack into another delicious dish? These are just some of the things the boys answered for everyone. Just a warning though: this may make you really hungry.
What to look forward to? While they’ve discovered delicious combinations, it is always entertaining to see their reactions to those that don’t work. Instances where a member likes something, while the others don’t are also hilarious to see. Nonetheless, they made pretty good suggestions so get ready to take down notes.
7. Come On! THE BOYZ School
Want to know how to take selfies properly? Or how to be more popular? Just attend your classes at THE BOYZ School and you’ll be all set. With the members teaching you all sorts of things, considering how witty and comical the members are, you’ll definitely find yourself clutching your stomach from laughing so hard. With the appearance of Defconn as the “principal” of the school, it’s not THE BOYZ when there’s no form of competition or teasing going around. With all the inside jokes that formed through this series, it’s safe to say that this one is worth discovering and rewatching whenever you’re looking for a good laugh.
What to look forward to? While the whole content is hilarious, the last episode is on a whole new level.
Aside from the ones mentioned, THE BOYZ still have so many options when it comes to quality content like THE 100, The Play, Mission THE BOYZ, Otoseyo (which has 50 episodes), and random videos on their YouTube channel. THE BOYZ emits such good vibes, even their one to two hour-long V-APP videos are binge-worthy.
So what’s your favourite moment from those mentioned above?
