[FEATURE] 4 FACTS ABOUT XDINARY HEROES TO KNOW BEFORE BREAK THE BRAKE IN JAKARTA

Xdinary Heroes, a South Korean rock band under JYP Entertainment, successfully stole attention in the K-Band scene after their debut in 2021. After completing the first leg of Break the Brake World Tour in Europe, the six talented youngsters will finally hold their concert in Jakarta on March 2, 2024, at The Kasablanka Hall.

Consists of Six Members

On November 2021, it was revealed that JYP Entertainment was going to debut a new band consisting of six members: Gunil, Jungsu, Gaon, O.de, Jun Han, and Jooyeon. Gunil, the oldest member, is the leader, sub-vocalist, and drummer of the group. Electric guitar and vocals are expertly covered by Gaon and Jun Han, while Jungsu serves as the band’s keyboardist and main vocalist. O.de is the main rapper, synthesizer, vocalist, and keyboardist of the group. The youngest of six, Jooyeon, is the band’s main vocalist and bassist. All of them provide their own unique skills to the table, which when brought together harmonize well and bring a new, unique color to the music industry.

The Meaning of Xdinary Heroes

It is particularly easy to guess that the name Xdinary Heroes is an abbreviation of “extraordinary heroes.” The name contains the message that everyone can be a hero. In an interview session after their debut, Gunil explained that Xdinary Heroes didn’t have any super powers like Spider-Man or Superman, but they were special heroes who could find something extra in ordinary things.

Self-Produced Group

It is widely known among Villains, the name of their fans, that Xdinary Heroes have produced their own music since debut. For starters, Jungsu and Gaon participated in writing and composing Happy Death Day, their memorable debut single. Their four EPs so far—Hello, World! (2022), Overload (2022), Deadlock (2023), and Livelock (2023)—have also been produced by the six members.

Multiple Award Winners

All thanks to their remarkable performances, impressive skills, and never-ending hard work, Xdinary Heroes have been nominated for several music awards by major award shows since their early debut days, namely Genie Music Awards, Golden Disc Awards, MAMA Awards, Seoul Music Awards, and Hanteo Music Awards. From those nominations, the boys have won four awards so far, which are Best Band Performance and Best New Male Artist (2022) by MAMA Awards, Band Award (2023) by Seoul Music Awards, and Special Award – Band (2023) by Hanteo Music Awards. Their talents are surely recognized by the industry!
