[PHILIPPINES] DEAN & SAAY Bring the Dynamic K-RnB Scene Live in Manila

There’s no doubt that DEAN, the fast-rising and chart-topping South Korean RnB singer and rapper, is well-received by his Filipino Rebels. He visited the Philippines last 2016 for his first jam-packed solo show and this time, he shared the stage with SAAY, a soloist from the same agency who made her debut in 2017.

If you’re an avid K-pop concert goer, you might have prepared yourself for a crowd full of screaming fans all excited to get a glimpse of their idols. However, it came as a surprise for us when we were welcomed with a chill and relaxed vibe as we attended DEANx SAAY’s showcase on November 10th at the New Frontier Theatre in Quezon City!

Given the general atmosphere of the crowd, some smashing EDM beats were played to hype everyone up! Rebels were dancing on their feet with DJ Eun Seol‘s set served as a satisfying appetizer for yet another sumptuous full-course meal that is the whole show.

She is SAAY and she is FIRE
Sensual yet sophisticated, SAAY’s charisma exuded vibrantly as she opened the two-hour concert and performed for the first time for the Philippine crowd. What we find very outstanding about her every move was that it invites you to focus your gaze and attention to only her and her alone.

She confidently dominated the stage with her swift dance moves to the beats of ‘Circle’ and ‘Sweaty’. Her vocal prowess was also highlighted when she belted out the tunes of ‘Fallin’, ‘Love Drop’, ‘Cold View’, and offered us her soulful rendition of Frank Sinatra’s ‘L.O.V.E’.

SAAY then bade goodbye to her new Filipino fans with the song ‘Encore’.

DEAN is dashing with music that never disappoints
Rebels’ anticipation to hear from DEAN finally came true as the Billboard-topping artist stepped out strong with his eclectic hit ‘Put My Hands on You’. The crowd went even wilder when he performed his show-staple pieces ‘I’m Not Sorry’, ’21’, and Fanxy Child’.

We were also crooned with ‘love’, a successful collaboration song originally featuring Syd, alongside an emotionally heart-rending version of his masterpiece hit ‘instagram’.

DEAN was delighted to have met his Filipino fans for the second time, and he couldn’t be anymore grateful for the warm welcome received. With his sleek raps and smooth vocals, the show ended with everyone slamming to ‘Bermuda Triangle’.

Did you know that this 27-year old music genius also elebrated his birthday at the showcase itself? He confessed that he was a bit under the weather, but he surely powered through the whole show despite the cold.

DEAN even dropped his single ‘dayfly’ just a day prior to his Manila concert so it was impossible not to admire him on his passion and talent in music. We are certain about his continued success in the industry, and we are looking forward to witnessing this powerhouse RnB artist unleash his musicality genius even more in the future.
