The final stop of NEXZ’s GLOBAL SHOWCASE EVENT <Mmchk : Not Typical> in SINGAPORE, proved to be anything but ordinary as the seven-member rising group took over Capitol Theatre on 12 July 2026 (Sunday), delivering performances that marked both the end of their showcase journey and an unforgettable first impression in Singapore.
Formed through the reality-survival programme, Nizi Project Season 2, NEXZ comprises of seven members from Japan and South Korea: TOMOYA, YU, HARU, SO GEON, SEITA, HYUI, and YUKI. Welcomed by their enthusiastic fans (NEX2Y), the group brought explosive energy, polished performances, and heartfelt interactions that showcased why they are one of K-pop’s most exciting new-generation boy group.

The Perfect Kick-Off to the Final Showcase
NEXZ wasted no time igniting the atmosphere at Capitol Theatre, kicking off the night with the explosive ‘MMCHK‘, before seamlessly transitioning into ‘O-RLY?‘ and ‘I’m Him’. The trio of performances showcased the group’s powerful stage presence, razor-sharp choreography and undeniable charisma, instantly drawing loud cheers from the crowd.
After the energetic opening, the members warmly introduced themselves and thanked NEX2Y for braving the rainy weather to spend the evening with them. Sharing that the showcase tour had begun in Korea before making its final stop in Singapore, they hoped everyone would continue to enjoy themselves until the very end of their last showcase performance.
The evening was not all about the music, as NEXZ also treated fans to a series of interactive corners that highlighted their playful personalities. Before the corners began, the emcee invited the audience to suggest local nicknames for the group, prompting laughter as fans enthusiastically shouted out names such as “Abang”, “Sayang”, “GOAT”, “Mei Nu”, “Shuai Ge”, “Chio Bu”, “Eonnie” and “Oppa”.

Reliving the ‘MMCHK’ Era, One Photo at a Time
Returning to stage for the first segment, “MMCHK: NEXZ Way,” we saw the members revisiting memorable photos from the ‘MMCHK‘ era while sharing the stories behind them.
SEITA looked back on his black-haired concept, revealing that he had to practise repeatedly to perfect his signature wink. YU quickly related, admitting that winking did not come naturally during the shoot and took plenty of practice before he could pull it off—a confession that SEITA wholeheartedly agreed with.
YUKI fondly reminisced about his pink-haired look, complete with cake smeared across his mouth spelling out “MMCHK,” while TOMOYA hilariously likened his voluminous hairstyle to that of a professor whose hair had exploded, joking that standing too close to the birthday candles probably left his hair that way.
Speaking in English, HARU confidently shared that while he could wink well on stage, he still thought YU and SEITA looked much more handsome doing it. HYUI reflected on stepping out of his comfort zone with blonde hair, admitting that after having black hair for most of his life, he still feels awkward seeing himself blonde—even now. Rounding off the segment, SO GEON revealed his own trick to landing the perfect wink: pairing it with a slight frown to make the expression work.
To wrap up the segment, the members hilariously rated their own winks. YU gave himself a modest 5 out of 10, while HARU and SO GEON confidently awarded themselves perfect 10s. TOMOYA cheekily declared his wink was a “10 out of 10” – in the 2PM way, drawing laughter from the audience, while YUKI took confidence to another level with a 100 out of 10. HYUI, admitting he rarely winks in everyday life, settled on a 3, and SEITA rounded out the rankings with a respectable 7 out of 10.
To put their self-assessments to the test, the members were challenged to wink on the spot. The impromptu demonstration quickly proved that while some members effortlessly charmed the crowd with a single wink, others struggled to keep one eye shut, sparking plenty of laughter from both their fellow members and the audience.

When NEXZ and NEX2Y Take the Stage Together
Keeping the momentum going, NEXZ returned to the stage with spirited performances of ‘NALLINA‘ and ‘Simmer,‘ filling Capitol Theatre with infectious energy from start to finish. As the members delivered each performance with confidence and charisma, one thing became unmistakably clear—Singapore NEX2Y had come prepared. Their deafening fan chants echoed throughout the venue, matching the group’s enthusiasm beat for beat and creating an atmosphere that the members visibly enjoyed.
The excitement then shifted back to another round of interactive fun with the “Reverse Song Quiz“, where both NEXZ and NEX2Y put their listening skills to the test. As short snippets of their songs were played backwards, the members worked together to identify tracks including ‘MMCHK‘, ‘Simmer‘, ‘Here & Now‘, ‘Next to Me’, ‘HYPEMAN‘, ‘Starlight‘, and ‘Ride the Vibe‘. Whenever they found themselves stumped, they did not hesitate to turn to NEX2Y for help, with fans enthusiastically shouting out the answers and joining in on the game when tasked.
The fun continued with a series of dance challenges, giving NEXZ the opportunity to showcase their versatility across different styles and generations of music. The members took on ‘RUN IT’ by their fellow JYP Entertainment labelmate and senior group – Stray Kids, alongside NSYNC’s ‘I Want You Back‘, before wrapping up with the popular hit, ‘ICONIC BY MISTAKE‘, by ILLIT, KATSEYE, and LE SSERAFIM. Seamlessly switching between each routine, the group displayed their impressive adaptability and unstoppable energy, drawing enthusiastic cheers from the audience throughout. With the crowd wanting more, each challenge was performed twice—because once simply was not enough.

One Last Run with NEX2Y
For the final stretch of the showcase, NEXZ rounded out the night with a refreshing change of pace. Trading intensity for playful energy, the members performed ‘HYPEMAN‘, before continuing with ‘Ride the Vibe‘ and ‘Run With Me‘. Before performing ‘Run With Me‘, NEXZ shared that this song was their way of thanking NEX2Y for their unwavering support throughout the showcase tour. Staying true to their message, the members stepped off the stage and made their way into the audience, greeting fans upclose. Rather than limiting themselves to the ground floor, they also ventured up to the theatre’s upper levels to meet fans— an unusual gesture that, to our knowledge, makes NEXZ one of the first K-pop groups to do so, leaving a lasting impression on those in attendance.
Returning to the stage, the members took a moment to deliver their heartfelt ending ments, reflecting on their first visit to Singapore — the final stop of their global showcase, and the memories they had created with NEX2Y throughout this period.
SEITA expressed how happy he was to finally meet Singapore NEX2Y, sharing that he was grateful to spend the final showcase together before charming fans with an adorable dose of aegyo set. HYUI admitted that while it was a pity the showcase had come to an end, he was filled with satisfaction and joy. Having always wanted to visit Singapore, he said ticking it off his bucket list alongside NEX2Y made the experience even more meaningful, while expressing his hope of returning to perform on an even bigger stage. YUKI echoed similar sentiments, revealing that Singapore had always been a place he had only seen on television, making the opportunity to experience it in person all the more memorable. Promising to continue working hard, he hoped the group would return again in the future.
Reflecting on the significance of the evening, TOMOYA admitted it was bittersweet knowing this was the final stop of the global showcase. Nevertheless, he was proud that the members had given their all at every stop and was touched to see not only Singapore NEX2Y, but also fans who had travelled from around the world to be present. SO GEON shared that although he felt sad the showcase had come to an end after months of preparation, it had gifted him unforgettable memories and was thankful to finally visit the country he had only seen on television and meet NEX2Y in person.
Never one to miss an opportunity to connect with fans, HARU asked in English if everyone was feeling hot before joking that it must be because of the love NEX2Y had for NEXZ. Curious about what local food he should try before leaving Singapore, he was met with enthusiastic recommendations of laksa from the crowd. He replied that he will try it if possible and also promised to continue studying English so that he could communicate even more comfortably with fans the next time they met. YU rounded off the ending ments by thanking NEX2Y for their unwavering support over the past two years since the group’s debut. Although many fans live far away, he said they could always feel their encouragement, which motivated the members to keep working hard. He added that it was because of the support that they showed that NEXZ could perform in Singapore. Wrapping up the ment, he promised they would continue to work hard and travel the world to meet even more NEX2Y.
As a fitting tribute to the global nature of the showcase tour, the members also greeted fans in multiple languages. TOMOYA spoke in Mandarin, HARU addressed the audience in English, and SEITA thanked fans in Japanese. SO GEON, meanwhile, won over the crowd with his enthusiastic attempts at Singlish, proudly declaring,“Shiok!”, asking “Yandao or not?”, and ending with “Thank you lah”, “NEX2Y so swee lah”, “Love you lah”, earning some of the loudest cheers of the night.
NEXZ then closed out theSingapore stop with ‘Next Zeneration‘ and ‘Beat-Boxer‘. It was a fitting finale that left NEX2Y with one last burst of energy and a lasting reminder of the genuine bond the group had built with their fans throughout the evening.

Until Next Time, Run With NEXZ Towards the Next Reunion
As chants of “encore” filled Capitol Theatre, NEXZ answered fans’ calls by returning to the stage for an encore featuring ‘Keep on Movin‘,’ ‘Hands Up‘, and their latest comeback, ‘HELLMATE‘. To close the showcase on a high, there was only one song that could bring everyone together for the last time—’MMCHK.’ Transforming the stage into one final dance party, the members let loose, playfully dancing with one another and soaking in every last moment with NEX2Y as fans sang and danced along.
NEXZ’s first-ever showcase in Singapore was a fitting conclusion to their global showcase tour, leaving fans with memorable performances, heartfelt interactions and plenty of unforgettable moments. Throughout the evening, the seven members showcased the qualities that have established them as one of K-pop’s rising acts, while creating a genuine connection with Singapore NEX2Y. As the members expressed during their ending ments, they hope to return to Singapore one day on an even bigger stage. Until then, fans can look forward to creating even more cherished memories together when that day comes.
