[MALAYSIA] QWER Rocks On With Bawiges At ‘ROCKATION’ In Kuala Lumpur

South Korea’s female idol rock band QWER made their long-awaited first visit to Malaysia on January 17, 2026, bringing their ‘ROCKATION’ World Tour to Zepp Kuala Lumpur.

Made up of Chodan (drums), Magenta (bass), Hina (guitar) and Siyeon (vocal/guitar), the group has quickly established themselves as one of Korea’s top female bands since debuting in 2023, with ROCKATION marking their very first world tour.

The tour name combines the words ‘ROCK’ and ‘VACATION’, essentially meaning “taking a vacation while singing rock”. It also echoes the word ‘LOCATION’, symbolising the band’s intention to connect with fans around the world. Kuala Lumpur marked the second stop of their Asian leg this year after Macau.

From the moment the band appeared on the stage, the crowd’s voices echoed through the venue, showcasing their enormous support for the group. There were notably more fanboys with occasional fangirls’ voices, but the voices combined to one loud cheer, screaming for QWER as they kicked off their concert with G9JB.

The setlist highlighted QWER’s growing and versatile discography, ranging from fan favourites like T.B.H and My Name Is Malgeum to powerful tracks such as OVERDRIVE and a rearranged version of Let’s Love, alongside softer numbers like Harmony of Stars and Goodbye My Sadness. Each song was delivered with ease and confidence, amplified by Chodan’s powerful drumming, Magenta’s masterful basslines, Hina’s rhythmic guitar riffs, and Siyeon’s energetic vocals, coming together to create a truly unforgettable stage.

Beyond their performances, the members made a heartfelt effort to connect with the audience by attempting to speak in Bahasa Malaysia, which was met with loud cheers and left a lasting impression. They also shared how nervous and excited they were to come to Malaysia for the first time, with Siyeon thanking the fans for their support, and Chodan expressing that it was a day she would never forget.

One of the most emotional moments of the night came during the encore, when fans prepared an early birthday surprise for Hina. She was visibly touched and thanked everyone for the thoughtful gesture, while the other members grew emotional watching her reaction, making it one of the night’s most memorable highlights.

Ending the night on a high note, QWER closed the concert with Make Our Highlight, promising to return to Malaysia again before bidding their final goodbyes. For Malaysian Bawiges, the night was truly a highlight, as they finally got to witness QWER live in person. We hope to see them again here soon.
