[SINGAPORE] Dive into The Highlights of Waterbomb Day 2

The second day of Waterbomb Singapore 2025 at Siloso Beach was a heady mix of watergun blasts, sweat, and groovy tunes, anchored by some of K-pop’s brightest acts. With every beat drop came screams as the blasts from the gun hit the crowd, and the stage came alive under the voices of JUNNY, Ash Island, Lee Young-ji, JAY B, and the legendary 2NE1

JUNNY opened the K-pop lineup with his velvety vocals, easing fans into the evening with a soulful groove. His setlist flowed seamlessly, but it was the warmth between songs that stood out. “It’s so hot, but you guys are hotter,” he teased, drawing screams and laughter before launching into Here we Go Again. When a drenched fan shouted his name mid-song, he grinned and waved without missing a note. Little gestures like that made his performance feel less like a rehearsed showcase and more like a conversation shared with fans.

Where JUNNY charmed, Ash Island confronted. His gritty delivery and piercing gaze demanded attention, and fans gave it willingly. Between songs, he paused to catch his breath, “Guess what, it just so happens to be raining right now… So the next song is Rainy Day.” Fans cheered as he dived headfirst into the next song. By the time he shrugged off his jacket and revealed sweat-soaked (or was it from the rain?) tattoos, the crowd was chanting his name like a battle cry. Raw, real, and unfiltered—Ash Island’s presence was impossible to ignore.

“Young-ji! Young-ji! Young-ji!” The moment YENA’s DJ act ended, the crowd erupted into a fanchant, again proving their anticipation and Young-ji’s popularity. Bounding onto stage, she instantly owned the night as she entered with I Am Lee Youngji, followed my crowd favourite Small Girl. “Sing along guys, I can’t hear you!” The iconic queen cracked jokes between her songs, making funny expressions, not giving us a moment to get bored. “I want you guys to dwi-eo! Jump!” she shouted, hyping the crowd up for her raps in Fraktsiya, DNA and WITCH, not missing a beat and even playing with the rhythm. “I’m going to miss you guys so much! This is my last song, so after that you know what to do,” spurring laughter from the crowd. Surely enough, chants of “Encore! Encore!” resonated through the beach and she pacified the crowd with snippets from Smoke and AEAO

The shift in energy was instant when JAY B took the stage. Opening with Cloud Nine, his sultry vocals coupled with body waves rolled across the sand like a tide. Fans screamed at every subtle smirk, but it was the way he toyed with the audience that made it unforgettable — with each button on his denim jacket that came off, ear-splitting screams were heard. JAY B showed off a fair bit of his discography, complete with older songs like B.T.W., Switch it up, and slower R&B songs like Make Me Right. By the time his abs were fully in view, Siloso Beach turned into a frenzy of waving arms, flashing phones, and pure chaos. And yet, in between the heat, he softened — telling the crowd, “I’m so glad to come back to Singapore. I’ve missed you guys.” That balance of playful tease and genuine affection made his set the most intoxicating of the night.

JAY B also ensured to show off his GOT7 pride by ending off with Go Higher, GOT7’s classic encore song played in (almost) every concert. This moment felt like a coming full circle for us, who watched BamBam end off his set with Hard Carry in Waterbomb Day 2 in Singapore last year.

When the lights dimmed and the intro of Come Back Home thundered, it was as if time folded back. 2NE1 emerged as powerfully as ever, and the beach erupted in screams that drowned out even the cannons. The group didn’t just perform — they owned the stage, dripping with charisma. CL’s commanding stage presence had the crowd following her every move, while DARA, ever the fan-favorite, gave her 100% by junpimg throughout the set. Minzy broke into crazy dance moves across multiple dance breaks, grinning as the crowd hollered in joy. (It was such a pity that Bom could not join, get well soon Bom!)

Through their setlist including the iconic songs Fire, Ugly and I Am The Best, this author realised that these were so much more than just perfomances — they were reunions, moments of shared history between 2NE1 and BLACKJACKS.

From JUNNY’s warm charm to 2NE1’s legendary finale, Waterbomb Singapore Day 2 was drenched not only in water, but in laughter and awe.

On this night at Siloso Beach, the performances weren’t just seen or heard—they were felt, soaked into memory like salt on skin. 2NE1, JAY B, Young-ji, Ash Island and JUNNY, we’ll be back to catch you again next year!
