[INDONESIA] Ahn Hyo Seop Pours His Heart into ‘I WANT TO SAY (Love, Jakarta)’

Ahn Hyo Seop made his highly anticipated return to Indonesia with the 2025 AHN HYO SEOP FANMEETING: I WANT TO SAY (Love, Jakarta), held on August 23, 2025, at JIEXPO Kemayoran. Marking his official first fanmeeting tour in nearly two years, the event became a heartwarming reunion between the actor and his fans, Pauljjak. This made the occasion all the more unforgettable.

I WANT TO SAY (My Story)

Cheers erupted as Ahn Hyo Seop made his entrance with Love, Maybe, the popular OST from one of his most beloved dramas, Business Proposal. After the opening performance, he greeted fans with a warm smile and expressed how much he had missed Indonesian Pauljjak. He also praised their incredible energy, saying that it gave him a powerful source of strength. As for the meaning behind the title of his fanmeeting, I WANT TO SAY, he explained that it reflected his wish to chat comfortably with fans. He also wanted to fill the parentheses that followed with the memories they would create together.

The first segment, titled I WANT TO SAY (My Story), gave fans a glimpse into Ahn Hyo Seop’s daily life, including moments from his vacation in Bali. He shared that the trip took place after finishing a shoot and that he went together with his company staff. When the second photo appeared on screen, fans burst into cheers as it was a shot of shirtless Ahn Hyo Seop by the swimming pool. He playfully joked that while he had sent plenty of everyday photos, the staff just had to pick that one, drawing laughter from the audience.

The actor also shared updates on his beloved cat, Baul, who is just as popular among his fandom. According to him, Baul is doing well, living a busy schedule of eating, sleeping, snacking, and more sleeping. Apparently, Baul’s food supply is even bigger than his owner’s. He jokingly admitted that he is jealous of his furry friend. Well, Baul really is living everyone’s dream life, so we got you, Hyo Seop!

Along with sharing updates about his daily life, Ahn Hyo Seop also revealed sketches of his upcoming official dolls. Inspired by the many dolls he has received from fans, he wanted to create one that Pauljjak could enjoy together. His first idea was a frog to represent Pauljjak, but he also wanted something that would remind them of him. Recalling how his saju (Korean traditional fortune-telling system) once described him as a baby tiger on a mountain, he later sketched a tiger. In the end, the frog was just too cute to let go, so he plans to release both. He has even named them: Hyorangi and Eoguri. How adorable is that?

In the I WANT TO SAY (Hyo Seop’s Filmography) segment, the multi-talented actor shared some behind-the-scenes stories from his recent projects. He also talked about making his big-screen debut in the movie adaptation of Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint. In this project, he played the main character, Kim Dok Ja, alongside huge names like Lee Min Ho, Chae Soo Bin, and BLACKPINK’s Jisoo. While many of his past roles have featured characters with extraordinary traits, Kim Dok Ja is a much more relatable figure—someone you might encounter in everyday life. That is why Ahn Hyo Seop was curious to see how he could bring such a realistic character to life.

Another project of Ahn Hyo Seop’s that everyone has been obsessing over lately is KPop Demon Hunters. The movie was recently crowned the most popular Netflix film of all time. He shared that he is a huge fan of animation and could relate to his character, Jinu. Although he graduated from schools in Canada, this was actually his first time acting in English. He had always wanted to give it a shot, so when the chance came, of course, he grabbed it right away!

Not only did he talk about his past works, but Ahn Hyo Seop also gave fans a sneak peek into what is next—his new drama Sold Out Again Today! This time, he will be playing both a farmer and a CEO (yes, a CEO again!). He called it a healing rom-com drama and teased that if you loved Business Proposal, you will definitely enjoy this one too. And honestly, there is no doubt fans will fall for it.

Through this fanmeeting, Ahn Hyo Seop once again proved that he is not only a talented actor but also an outstanding vocalist. His performances felt even more special as he personally curated the setlist with fans in mind, making each stage all the more meaningful.

The final segment began with a dreamy performance of Reality, the timeless OST from the 1980 film La Boum. Ahn Hyo Seop recalled the scene where the male lead places headphones on the female lead and the two enter a world of their own. He chose the song to symbolise the start of a new world with Pauljjak during this part of the fanmeeting. He went on to serenade fans with Until I Found You and Nothing’s Gonna Change My Love for You, looking amazed as the entire crowd joined in for a sing-along.

As acting plays such a big role in Ahn Hyo Seop’s life, he made sure to include his own rendition of Gather My Tears, the main theme song from his drama A Time Called You. He shared that the song means a lot to him personally, as he could relate to its message and to the original singer, Seo Ji Won. He then conveyed his appreciation for fans’ endless support with Thanks by Kim Dong Ryul. Lastly, he ended the night on a high note with one final gift—a flawless cover of the Indonesian song Monokrom by Tulus.
