[INDONESIA] Memorable Moments with Byeon Woo Seok at ‘Summer Letter’ Fan Meeting in Jakarta

Actor Byeon Woo Seok successfully concluded his first ever fan meeting in Jakarta as part of the 2024 Byeon Woo Seok Asia Fanmeeting Tour ‘Summer Letter’. The event took place on June 28, 2024 at The Kasablanka Hall, drawing an audience of over three thousand enthusiastic fans.

The model-turned-actor became the face of the Ryu Sun Jae Syndrome following his role in the hit drama Lovely Runner, earning immense love and admiration from fans all over the world. His increasing popularity was further proven by the rapid sell-out of tickets across all his tour stops in Asia.

A ‘Loveholic’ for Byeon Woo Seok

Byeon Woo Seok made a giddy entrance with a delightful cover of Loveholic, an OST from Lovely Runner, which served as the perfect opening song for the fan meet. Following his performance, he proceeded to greet the fans.

The actor expressed his excitement about hosting his first fan meet in Jakarta, emphasizing that such opportunities do not come often and that he was grateful for the chance. He wished that fans could enjoy this special time to the fullest. His sentiment was met with warm cheers from fans, who shared the same wish.

To fans’ surprise, Byeon Woo Seok revealed that he has been to Indonesia before. He visited Bali once and enjoyed his time there, expressing his desire to return if given the chance.

Heartwarming Interactions with Fans

In the segment titled Every Moment of Lovely Sunjae, Byeon Woo Seok reminisced about the feelings he experienced while portraying the character. “Sunjae was a beautiful character whom I loved,” he said. “Thanks to him, I had the opportunity to meet fans in Jakarta, and for that, I’m genuinely happy and grateful,” Byeon Woo Seok added, with longing apparent in his eyes.

However, what is a fanmeet without the anticipated interactions between the artist and fans? Byeon Woo Seok invited some lucky fans to re-enact iconic scenes from Lovely Runner with the real-life Ryu Sun Jae himself.

There were some surprises, though. The first lucky fan chosen was a fanboy, causing both Byeon Woo Seok and the crowd to burst into laughter, as the scene depicted a romantic moment. The other lucky fan had quite a unique experience as well; the yellow umbrella intended as a prop to recreate one of the scenes flipped inside out, prompting another round of laughter from everyone.

Not only do they have the chance to re-enact the scenes together, but the fans were also given the opportunity to convey their feelings to Byeon Woo Seok. One of them expressed a message that resonated with all the other fans’ feelings toward the actor. “Aku sangat menyayangi kamu dan tolong jaga kesehatan selalu,” which translates to, “I love you so much and please take care of your health.” Byeon Woo Seok listened attentively, placing his hand on his chest and bowing to show his gratitude.

Impressed by Indonesian Fans’ Crowds and Positive Energy

Indonesian Woo Che Tongs (Byeon Woo Seok’s fandom name) prepared a special fan project to celebrate Byeon Woo Seok’s challenging journey to reach where he is now. The MC then instructed the entire crowd to do a big wave as a token of appreciation for the actor, which clearly left a deep impression on Byeon Woo Seok.

Just before the night ended, Byeon Woo Seok gave fans a taste of attending ECLIPSE’s concert, the band his character Ryu Sun Jae was in on the drama, by performing a sweet cover of I Think I Did and the much-anticipated fan-favorite, Sudden Shower, which fans enthusiastically sang along to.

To conclude his fan meeting, Byeon Woo Seok once again expressed his gratitude to all the fans in attendance. He also promised to return to Indonesia before bidding his final farewell.  “Thank you for coming. I hope this fan meet becomes a cherished memory for you. Thank you, and good night,” said Byeon Woo Seok.
