[MALAYSIA] pH-1 Hypes His Fans Up in Kuala Lumpur

pH-1’s ABOUT DAMN TIME ASIA TOUR in Kuala Lumpur took place at ZEPP KL on a Thursday night, March 16. The rapper’s first solo tour received a tremendous amount of support, making the entire concert filled with splendid energy!

Intense Energy Right Off the Bat

After the opening stage, pH-1 finally made his appearance and officially began his concert with MEET N GREET, Malibu and PACKITUP! The crowd’s amazing cheers filled the entire venue, hyping up the soloist as he performed on stage. He then continued the concert with one of his latest title tracks ZOMBIES, followed by the iconic performances of TIPSY and YUPPIE TING!

Despite performing on his own, the crowd were fully immersed into his incredible rapping and were amazed by his energy level! From time to time, cheers can be heard from the audience, and were acknowledged by the rapper as he pointed and smiled towards them.

Homebodies United through a Song

One of his fans’ top picks, Homebody was part of his concert setlist. The moment the beat blasted through the speakers, the crowd recognized it immediately and sang along with him! This track in particular is held close to most of his fans due to its relatable lyrics. The soloist expressed how he prefers to stay inside of his house and would often search for excuses to not leave his crib – this gained so much attention from those who are homebodies as well and effortlessly, it became one of their anthems!

The rapper then went on to perform other songs such as Groupie and Cupid as well as Koalified, a special collaboration stage with his friend KOALA! Prior to the concert, pH-1 mentioned on his twitter account that after their performance in Singapore, he told KOALA to fly together with him to Kuala Lumpur and perform right by his side again. pH-1 humorously convinced him by making a wordplay with KOALA and ‘Kuala’, which led to an agreement from KOALA’s side. This showcased the hilarious yet amazing loyalty that exists in their friendship!

Witty Fans, Witty Artist

After a short while, pH-1 took the opportunity to ask whether the audience present in the venue were in a relationship or not. The crowd funnily wailed “no” in response, which made the soloist chuckled in amusement. A quick grasp of the situation, he changed his question in an instant and asked “who here is single?”. He then proceeded to tell everyone in the venue to pretend like he was dedicating the next couple of songs for them. The crowd was then greeted by his soft, love songs – 365&7 and JULIETTE, making their hearts flutter throughout those tracks.

The lights surrounding the room gradually turned dimmer as pH-1 took centre stage. As the spotlight focused towards him, the rapper performed DVD, gaining cheers from the crowd. The mood became a more relaxing one after the continuous intense tracks.

The rapper did not waste anymore time and continued to hype the crowd with Like Me, NOT SORRY, Nerdy Love, OKAY and MORAGO. Occasionally during the concert, fans on the front row would be showered with splashes of water thrown by the rapper; this boosted their energy as they jumped throughout the performances!

pH-1 continued to bring the house down with Telèfono, Olaf and Achoo! He did not miss the chance to express his appreciation towards the supportive crowd and shared his hopes for another concert in Kuala Lumpur. His words received loud applause and whistles in return, plastering a soft smile on his face.

Satisfying Showmanship

The setlist has arrived to its end as pH-1 performed Orange, a song that was first introduced in Show Me the Money, as well as represented H1ghr Music with the heavy beats of The Purge! However, the crowd refused to leave the venue and demanded an encore by shouting his name in unison! Hearing this, pH-1 went back on the stage and gave a wonderful finale with Good Day!

The solo rapper is a walking proof of how a musician can produce and perform different genres of songs: from calming tracks to listen to on a chill night, to intense, powerful songs to hype up your day! His ability to pull this off while giving a remarkable show gave the attendees a post-concert syndrome, making them wait for his return to Malaysia!

We would like to thank IMC Live Global and Kohai for the media invite!
