Even in its seventh year, the K-Pop music festival was still at an all-time high with performances from Jun.K, YoungTak, Zion.T, and TREASURE. Here is a recap of how the four acts managed to steal the show during the unforgettable night!
Jun.K’s Energy Got The Night Started
Kicking off the event, Jun.K captivated the audience by performing his solo songs Alive and Think About You. His infectious enthusiasm and impressive skills warmed up the crowd quickly and had them cheering from the get-go.
Turning it up a notch, Jun.K had the fans screaming for more as he took on My House next and continued with a medley of other 2PM songs including Heartbeat, I’ll Be Back, and Hands Up.
As it had been seven years since his last visit to Indonesia, he did not shy away from showing fans his language skills by communicating in Bahasa! He also worked up a bit of hunger in the crowd when he said that nasi goreng ayam (chicken fried rice) was his favorite Indonesian food. When asked what he would like to convey to fans, Jun.K roared and asked everyone to “go crazy”! That was certainly what they did as they cheered him on all the way until his final stage for the night.
YoungTak Introduced Everything He’s About
Hot trend trot singer YoungTak oozed out charisma as he confidently sang The Wall at center stage, causing the audience to go slack jawed at his powerful vocals. As soon as the song ended, he graciously thanked the crowd for welcoming him and said he could not believe he was standing there in front of everyone.
He proceeded to sing some of his other iconic songs, including MMM, Jjiniya, and Why are you coming out from there, as well as a cover of To the Bone, originally sung by Indonesian artist Pamungkas. Throughout his segment, YoungTak was continuously surprised that the crowd knew of him and his songs to which he profusely thanked the fans at every chance he could.
Other memorable moments included teaching the audience the “killing point” of his songs during technical difficulties, and mentioning sate ayam and mie ayam as his favorite Indonesian food. YoungTak also revealed his plans for a tour in North America and acting in an upcoming K-Drama as well.
Zion.T Impressed With Unforgettable Classics
Joined by a live band,, Zion.T greeted the crowd with his soulful voice and amazing stage presence. A true performer, Zion.T reminded them of just how powerful he is as he took the stage by storm.
He revisited some of his classics with The Song, Cinema, Snow, and closed off with hit track Yanghwa BRDG. The artist was not shy to express his love towards the crowd despite being there for the first time.
Similar to the artists before him, Zion.T revealed his preferences for Indonesian food, which were ikan bakar, air kelapa, and sate. Unfortunately, he did not have much time to sightsee, but he assured everyone that he was certainly enjoying his time in Jakarta. The fans reciprocated with more support for him as they lit up their phones and waved along as Zion.T performed his final song.
TREASURE Closed Off With Love
TREASURE greeted the crowd with their newest song, HELLO, which was met with deafening cheers and enthusiasm. The fans also sneaked in a happy birthday song after the performance for member Kim Doyoung whose actual birthday was a week before the festival.
The group also managed to capture the hearts of the audience with high energy and intense performances of BOY, JIKJIN, and MY TREASURE. The crowd turned into a sea of blue lights as TEUMEs cheerfully waved their lightsticks to support the boys.
The fans were in high spirits as TREASURE were asked to make an acrostic poem with the word cintaku (“my love”) and showed their best aegyo, which was in theme with the event. With a promise that they would be back soon when asked about their future plans,, the crowd erupted in cheers.
Closing off the event, TREASURE performed I LOVE YOU as the arena popped into a shower of confetti and lights!
It was truly a magical night filled with lots of love and warmth from the artists and fans. Our greatest thank you to Mecimapro for the invitation to this event! 🙂
