[UPCOMING EVENT] Jakarta Fashion Week 2020 will Feature Young Korean Designers

Jakarta Fashion Week (JFW) is the main fashion week in Indonesia, which was first held in 2007. Determined as a platform for driving the Indonesian fashion industry, JFW provides direction for fashion activists and provides a prestigious arena for the show of talent and creativity in the domestic fashion world. Entering the fourth year of cooperation with Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA), this year’s JFW 2020 will again present high-fashion designers from South Korea.

At this year’s JFW 2020, young South Korean designers Yoon Seokwoon (for men’s fashion brand ‘SEOKWOON YOON’) and Jang Yoonkyung (for women’s fashion brand ‘SETSETSET’) , will be displaying their latest collections at Fashion Atrium Senayan City, Jakarta on Tuesday, October 22, 2019.

This year is the first year designer Yoon Seokwoon will show his collection in Indonesia. Designer Yoon will showcase the S/S 2020 collection with the theme “Nothing Inside”. The collection was inspired by lifestyle in Brooklyn and combines uniqueness between modern art and energy from the street fashion. Many Korean stars have worn his designs, among them are former JBJ member Kim Dong Han and Niel from Teen Top.

Carrying the theme of the Jangwon Flower Ceremony, Designer Jang said her collection was inspired by the traditional Korean culture, where there is a procession of giving a crown of flowers to the best graduates on a state exam. SETSETSET aims to let their customers to walk with confidence in the midst of a flower celebration with a feminine and sporty touch through their label’s unique style.

About The Designers

SEOKWOON YOON was established in 2017 by Designer Yoon Seokwoon who is a graduate of the Pratt Institute, Brooklyn. Designer Yoon captures inspiration from a fusion of broad historical references and modern art.

This label stands between the boundary of art and ready-to-wear, with the conceptual theme of the collection. Designer Yoon translates his inspiration with the Trompe l’oeil technique and combines art in his ready-to-wear collections.

The label expressed its uniqueness in an oversized form, reconstruction, and unusual construction, as the result of constant research on textiles through creative draping techniques.

Designer Yoon was awarded the ‘Black Sheep Designer’ award by the world-famous fashion platform ‘NOT JUST A LABEL’ in 2017. Recently, designer Yoon is displaying a joint collection at Seoul Fashion Week – Next Generation Seoul and nominated as a winner in the DFF Nextgen Designer Online Award Winner, Menswear 2019.

SETSETSET

SETSETSET is a women’s fashion label that develops textile designs with trendy colors. SETSETSET collection also approaches to Korean culture from various angles and beautifully demonstrating it.

With the whole team’s hard work, SETSETSET will continue to be built as a label with good communication value in presenting Korean culture in a more creative and fun way.

Established in 2016, the SETSETSET collection has also appeared and worn by various famous Korean artists such as GFRIEND in their ‘Fever’ music video, Park Narae in Radio Star Reality Show, and TWICE‘s ‘KNOCK KNOCK’ performance.
