[SINGAPORE] OH MY GIRL Turns Our Garden City Into Their Secret Garden

The seven members of OH MY GIRL – Hyojung, Mimi, Jiho, Seunghee, YooA, Binnie and Arin visited Singapore’s sunny shores for their first fanmeeting at Resorts World Theatre on May 5th. It was a night filled with many surprises and enjoyable moments for both the girls and Miracles (Oh My Girl’s fandom name)!

Sing For You
The show opened with “Love o’ Clock”, followed by hit song “Windy Day”. The crowd was clearly blown away the minute they saw the girls, cheering and singing along. They also performed “Je T’aime” and “Butterfly”. 

Sub-unit group OH MY GIRL BanHaNa, comprising members Hyojung, Binnie and Arin, sang and danced to the cute and fresh “Banana Allergy Monkey”, while the rest of the members took a breather off stage. All seven returned to the stage with fan favourites such as “Listen To My Word”, “Cupid” and “Closer”.

Ultimately the show drew to a close, and the girls worked all corners of the stage, showering fans with tons of hearts while performing “B612”. However, the song which clearly garnered the loudest cheers was their latest title track “Secret Garden”; a song which earned them their first music show win since debut!

Love For Fans
Throughout the fanmeeting, OH MY GIRL made a conscious effort to communicate in English with the fans. The girls chattered in simple short sentences to engage the local audience, even with a translator present. Fans loved the fact that the girls were speaking in English too, and encouraged them by cheering them on as well!

What wowed us was when Seunghee displayed her knowledge of Singlish, by saying “You guys make me so siao!” (T.N. siao means crazy in dialect) While it might not be the most accurate way to use the term, it definitely was a cute gesture and made it all the more endearing to fans.

No fanmeeting is complete without games, and Oh My Girl displayed excellent teamwork within the group with a mission relay game! The septet successfully completed the missions on their first attempt, allowing seven lucky fans to win special prizes. The sweet girls also personally decorated some cookies to gift another seven fans. Each member included several unique designs in their cookies, with some hidden messages! The winners were selected via a mass Rock, Paper, Scissor game with the audience.

Touching Fan-made VCR
Perhaps the most memorable moment of the night for both the girls and fans alike would be when a special fan-made VCR played while the girls were giving their closing ments. The VCR included clips from throughout OH MY GIRL’s careers, making the video ever so nostalgic and special. It was clear the girls were surprised and touched by the fans’ gestures from the tears they were wiping away by the end of the video.

That was not the end of the surprises though. While the girls were busy thanking fans for the touching video, a cake with a cute monkey on top of it was wheeled out. Fans started singing a birthday song for Mimi, whose birthday passed a few days prior. The cake was also meant as a gift to OH MY GIRL to celebrate their third year anniversary since debut.

With the girls hinting several times throughout the night that they wish to do a world tour, perhaps we will see them again in Singapore really soon? 😉 We certainly hope to have them back!
